    Thanks for the video. Would strap toggle bolts be strong enough to hold a 65” Television?

  • @BixnoHandyLLC

    @BixnoHandyLLC

    5 жыл бұрын

    Nobody's Home Yes, the 1/4” Hillman Group “strap toggle bolts” should be strong enough to hold your 65” television as long as you install them correctly. I prefer using at least four toggles/bolts - one in each corner of the bracket. According to the manufacturer, each 1/4” strap toggle bolt is rated for 80 pounds in drywall/sheetrock if the bolt is installed properly. I recommend also mounting the bracket to a wood stud if you have access to one. Good luck with your project 📺 🤠 💪🏻 Regards, Nolan Bixler BixnoHandy.com

    I've never heard those called Strap Toggle Bolts. I know them as Snap Toggle Bolts. Are they the same thing or different? They look exactly the same as Snap Toggle Bolts, although we didn't get a closeup view in your video.

    rana Mozeb If you install the strap toggle bolts correctly, mounting your television on a stud is not essential. Securing the television to a stud is usually recommended, but sometimes the wall construction, mount design, or TV placement does not allow you to use a stud. That’s where the strap toggle bolts come in 😊

    Amy Mury You will need to use the machine screws that come with the mount to secure the arms to the television 🔩 In regards to securing the bracket to the wall - most mount kits include a set of lag/wood screws (stud mounting) and concrete anchors. However, the mount kits do not usually include strap toggle bolts or drywall anchors. You will need to purchase the strap toggle bolts separately 👍🏻 Strap toggle bolts can also be used in conjunction with the lag screws in order to increase the security of your mounting job 😁 Mahalo 🙏🏻

    According to the owner of the home, the wall in the bedroom was made of "lath and plaster" from the 1920s, which forced us to use strap toggle bolts to secure the television to the wall. There were no studs to drill into on this particular wall. Thank you for your comment. Good luck on your handyman projects!

    Video is ok but the info provided isn't good for a heavy tv on lathe and platter as it will fail over time. The tv you have there is light weight. Snap Toggles are great in dry wall.

    Thank you for your input! You make an excellent point about the weight of the TV! The LCD television that I install in the video is a smaller TV compared to larger LEDs that are commonly purchased in today’s market. Feel free to use different hardware and consult a different provider for hanging larger televisions in lathe and plaster. Thank you for your comments 😊

    Toggle bolts are the best! I always have them in my toolbox! It allows you to mount things wherever _you_ want them, not where studs dictate. Sometimes you hit a stud and you end up with a half stud/half toggle bolt install, which is fine. Toggle bolts give you the flexibility you need to mount _anywhere_.
