Tuxedo #2 is a classic cocktail. The Tuxedo is a forgotten classic cocktail that dates back to the late 19th century, and became popular in the early 20th century before prohibition. Essentially the Tuxedo is a Martini with Absinthe
The drink was the official drink for The Tuxedo Club. A private members-owned country club near the Tuxedo Park in the New York State. The history is long but pretty interesting to see so many different slight variations on one drink.

2oz (60ml) London Dry Gin
1oz (30ml) French Dry Vermouth
.25oz (7.5ml) Luxardo Maraschino
2 Dashes of Orange Bitters
Absinthe Rinse
Served on a Nick & Nora and Garnish with a lemon peel

I am a huge Martini fan - bracingly cold, very dry (I wash the ice with Dry Vermouth and strain it out leaving only the slightest amount of Vermouth!!) and then expressing organic lemon spritz onto the Martini!! Sometimes I add 2 drops of good quality orange or grapefruit bitters! The grapefruit are actually very nice as I think they pair beautifully with the Gin! Loving the Martini so much makes me think I would really enjoy The Tuxedo Number 2!! It looks fabulous and oh so delicious!! I have never had one and I am definitely going to make one for friends and myself before dinner tonight! I even have all the ingredients! I love that you also enjoy St. George's spirits! Thanks brother! It is new. I’ve had the one of them for a while but finally learning how to give it good use. Next ip I want to upgrade the main light but thats an expensive one 😅

Yes, that would be great to see, with holiday parties coming up. I plan on making one of these while wearing a tuxedo t-shirt!
