This will be my last English tutorial. I was actually thinking of creating a French Tutorial Channel on Filmmaking and those three tutorials made up my mind and I'm going to start this new project!
Thank you to everyone who has sent messages, feedback, etc... If not for your support, I wouldn't have wanted to go further!

I went through several videos before I got to yours that was super simple yet informative! Thanks!
JAN 2021 - This tutorial was so awesome! If you re still having trouble I learned that motion and track matte key cant be used at the same time. Move your layer, NEST IT. Then track matte key. Hope this helps anyone still stuck. Motion and Track Matte Key DON'T MIX

Finally!!!
HOLY SMOKES thank you. The way you described this made it FINALLY click for me. Much appreciated!
Awesome video. That's what I was searching for! Thanks.
Great Video. Gonna build on this for a concept. All about simplicity!
Thank you I've never actually learned what each of them do I used to just switch between then until I got the intended result
Great! Keep it up. It's very helpful for beginners like me! Thanks
Thank you very much... Your explanation is very clear...
Thx, simple & perfect!
Thank you sir! Very helpful!
Awesome job, thanks
Thank you Nicolas.
Cool. It helped. I picked up a project from another editor and was not sure how was revealing the footage inside PP as I know how to do it AE.
thank you, clear and accurate
Just what a needed! I used this method to get rid of a timestamp on a video :D
thanks bro.. very nice explain👍👍
very helpful thank you!!
Awesome. Thank you! Although very quick explanation, I have to play your tutorial in slow motion to learn it, hehe
Is there a way to reposition the clip itself? It seems the track matte is moving with it so I can scale my shot without effecting the matte
thank youuuu this was actually so hard to find. Cheers
Thanks for your lesson
you're a hero.
You ROCK!!
Am using adobe premiere pro 2018 and the track keying is not thereee
great video!
Thank you!!
Thank you very much!!!
can I track matte a graphics element.... for example I create a text with a red rectangle, then animate that , and then apply track matte and place a PNG above to set the matte... is it posible?
thank you nice one
In the triangle example, why wouldn't you just create a mask instead of the alpha matte?
@NicolasBurnage

At the time, that's how I felt more comfortable doing it, because I was animating it and also using the triangle shape to apply other effects, I might be doing it differently today.
thanks💛
Finally someone with a fucking brain who understood what people needs. Honestly i was very pissed off, i could only find dumb videos about "how to export with transparency" which even an ameba could figure out. Thanks so much
Thank you you god of the gods
Nice tut :)
Great…helpfull…thanks : )-
thank you
Hey can we manipulate image in track matte effect...if yes then let me know...how.I have tried but when I try to move image, the above text is also moving along with it. I want text should be static and image underneath cab be manipulate ...like scale and position.

Follow the below: - Remove the track matte effect - Apply desired movement to image - Nest it - Then re-apply track matte Simply apply any further adjustment to the original image/video in the nest sequence.
Thanks
thanks
hello sir i like ur video but...if triangle rotate along with image if use matte key...

Thanks ! Well, in the end I am just making french tutorial aha I feel like I can bring more to the french community since everything I learned comes from the English KZread ;)
Voilà
Can you move or scale the video so that it is framed better within the text? When I try, the frame doesn't change but the position of the text does (even when the video clip is selected).

If you scale/move the video, you are moving the whole composition, to scale/move the video within the text you actually have to move/scale the text itself! :)

Awesome thanks so much Nicolas!
Just a question on this. What if a have photo moving vertically and I want to put it inside the ellipse shape. How can I put the photo as if its revealing itself once it enters the ellipse and then it will fade after it passes the circle?
@Gregbolso

thats what ive been trying to do but it just makes all my stuff grey inside the ellipse

@@Gregbolso i have successfully did this last year. Although i may have forgotten this already. See below, the cosplay video I did. Just a newbie so dont mind the quality: kzread.info/dash/bejne/i5yhxtR8ZN3Ue6g.html
why does mine turn the layer underneath greyscale? i followed every step exactly, and as soon as i set the track matte layer it goes greyscale instead of just bounding the video below to the box i made, well its still in the box, just greyscale on luma and black and white on alpha

Maybe a fusion mode is on ? I'm really not sure about why it doesn't work for you or where the problem comes from :/
How come mine is not aligned.... when i track matte
@NicolasBurnage

Track matte can be quite tricky if you also change de position in "Transform", Position should always set as default, but if you want to move your image around, I advise you to nest the element in another sequence, move the element in the nested sequence, and keep the track matte in the original one ! Not sure if I'm clear, but let me know if it fixes your issue !
Cool
Not enough of these types of videos
do you know why is my matte key aint working? when i select the right layer, its just turn white.. matte alpha composite i use

Have you tried to use the luma option ?
somehow in premiere 2020 this did not work at all for me with a text layer, I was very annoyed and I'm not sure if it's a glitch or it just doesn't work like this with text. Switched to After effects and got it all working
@NicolasBurnage

Should work with a text layer in PrPro too, but they do work a bit differently so Adobe made something in the Essential graphics panel, when you edit your text, you can click on an checkbox that enables the text as a mask !
@mantenbrink
3 жыл бұрын
@@NicolasBurnage That's weird. Why would this not be enabled by default?
@NicolasBurnage
3 жыл бұрын
@@mantenbrink I might have explained it wrong, and tbh don't have time to get more into it but just play around with the essential graphics tab, there are some cool options !
@mantenbrink

@@NicolasBurnage I might sometime. The last few projects just were so tightly planned with hard deadlines there's just not much time for me to play with it. Recently I solved this same issue just copying the bottom layer to the top and masking that top layer
subbed ;D thx
Why when i pit the matt effect it zoomed my text ?
@NicolasBurnage
5 жыл бұрын
That depends on the scales of your clips ! They need to stay at 100 when you apply the effect then you can move around and see what's going on !

Nicolas Burnage im not sure to understand cause i didint apply any modificstion to the text i litterally just -created a new project -created an 8sec sequence -added a text to that sequence -added the sequence on timeline 1 -added my background on timeline 2 -added track matte key effect to the sequence with text -asign the sequence to the background Then suddently when i assigne them togheter the txt become zoomed

good lesson just talk to fast try to slow it down a bit ;-)

Even with my basic French, it makes perfect sense. You are looking for things to complain about rather than appreciating what is an excellent tutorial.
tu parle anglais !
why the fuck you use software on your language? It isnt easier, its confusing... i dont want to see any software on my language cuz i cant navigate through it. English should be used in software and nothing more. Yea i know but its annoying as hell xD [and what im i doing here, youtube gave me random suggestion and i clicked xD ] tut is cool btw
thank you
