The journal is made with a Amazon blue and white bag. I love the sound of it. Covered it with fabric. It will be grungy. I plan to put black laces with a corrugated piece of cardboard. The lady is red on a black staircase. I needed a 101 lesson on how to putting the laces. I will follow you to learn from you! Merci et bonjour de Laval au Québec!

All of these covers are so-o-o beautifully decorated and embellished!! I'm curious...how do Crafty Me prices for lace yardage compare to a fabric store (JoAnn's)? This is a terrific process video! Tutorials tell and show what to do. Process videos tell and show how and why creative decisions were made. When I started this longer video, I had intended to stop shortly in because of a TV show I wanted to watch. This video was so good that I've stayed until the end...watching your audition process has been so interesting! I'm a well seasoned paper artist/crafter but I have learned a bundle by watching your skilled hands work and listening to your informative narrative! Love how this last cover turned out. I like the cover size resulting from folding the envelope in half. Beautiful work!! Thank you for, both, inspiring me and teaching me...much appreciated!

Hi Martie, Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and let me know your appreciation about my video :) This makes my day! :) I live in Canada, the French part, in Québec and we do not have the fabric store JoAnn's so, that would be really hard for me to say about the price or even the style of the laces. For me, shipping to Canada is quite expensive so, Esme (from Crafty Me Shop!) holds my orders for a couple of weeks to combine shipping and then, it gives me a reasonable price and where I live, we don't have beautiful laces like that and the ones I found were 2-3 times the price per yard. You can join her Facebook group called Crafty Me Shop! and see the price with the picture of the lace or appliqué, that might give you a good idea. :)

This was such a learning tutorial for me! Thanks for taking time to show your thought process. Your laces are just gorgeous. Wish I could find at thrift stores but don't get too lucky with that. Do you have a source you like? Beautiful work 😍

my source are really thrift stores but with the help of my family, friends, neighbour etc … over time, by talking to everyone, I found out that some of my friends or neighbour or ladies at church were thrift store shopping lovers and I showed them or explained what I am looking for and they bring me what they find! So, I barely go to thrift store but I have eyes looking for me … :) I never expected that 2 years ago but with time, it came to that naturally and I have built a good stash because of them! Your best source is to talk and ask them to look and buy for you :)
