You need to brush in the plaster at the start, that way it wont be full of blow holes all over the cast..also you really should shillac the mold

so the mold is made of plaster of pairs....and the cast to recreate was also made of plaster paris. You mean they do not bind together? Its because of the soap and oil right?

Plaster of Paris is gypsum powder. It's the softest. Depending on what you want to use it for, you should ask for either an alpha, or beta plaster, where alpha is the strongest/hardest.
