Save the old keyboard , and use for a template to make your own. Use thin furniture hardwood plywood, glue, then drill out key holes with forstner bit. Spit coat with shellac, sand smooth, spray with black laquer, or whatever color..

Hello Tom, thanks for your videos, they are very helpful. How about replacing the buttons? I have an old Venezia with badly worn buttons, it would look so much better with new ones. I have not found much information of methods or replacing them. Getting them to level up seems like it could be difficult. By the way my 1st accordion was a Hohner Corona ii GCF red. Got from a fellow on the street for $100, wish I still had it... Thanks Brian

Hi Brian! I've tried replacing buttons, but it's so hard to get them off, and press the new ones on. I think you might need a special press for that, but I am not sure. Good luck!

I'm wondering if you know if a Hohner Corona 2 classic wood fingerboard will fit on a hohner panther? You make things look so easy

Hey Jeremy, I think it will be close, but sometimes installing the keyboards is a little bit finicky.

Hi Tom, wondering if you can help. I recently bought a Hohner black dot and while it's in great condition, there's a lot of noise when releasing the buttons. I notice the buttons are also scraping on the bottom, and the black from the wood has rubbed off on them. Would you have any ideas as how to fix it? Thank you.

@@guitarjamie Hmm, ok so you mean the clacking. Some Hohners come with felt underneath the buttons, adhered onto the bottom of the fingerboard. But those are generally Coronas. It looks more like the clacking however is from releasing the buttons. I would have to compare with an Erica and see if it is the same. You might be able to adjust the position of the plastic fingerboard just slightly, but I feel like this is just part of the Erica/Black dot design. Can anyone confirm?

@@TomsMusicShop Hi Tom, just wanted to follow up: I discovered the issue was the leather/felt on the treble pallets. The noise was coming from the pallets hitting the holes for the reeds, so after taking apart the old leather and glue and attaching new leather it really made a world of difference! I uploaded a comparison video and the clacking is hardly there anymore. Thanks so much for your help! :)

Hey there, where do you live? There are different Hohner stores in different countries. It’s not too expensive.
