Turtle Island p.4- the planting- root over sculpture bonsai on a custom made pot
This is the final part of mini series- Turtle Island. In this episode I share what trees I chose to plant on top of my custom made pot and how they grew over the last several months. Join me in my garage, where back in early spring 2023 I potted a sweet grouping of 3 thuja seedlings on the shell of the turtle. See how they look today, in October 2023 in my garden and receive the reflections I share about this experience.

I'm very glad to hear it was enjoyable for you Scott and much appreciate you sharing it with me! The trees are alive, which is important, bc for most of them it's their first year in bonsai pots and I learned this year it is much different experience then having a bunch of nursery stock lol

Fantastic root system on these trees.
Finished planting with the moss is a work of art. Excellent!!! Turtle does look like it is coming out of the seaweeds in the little pond.

Great composition!!! I was actually thinking it would go further behind the turtle, to leave some shell exposed. I'd dislike not seeing all that beautiful work.

Daggum! That was AWESOME! Can we do it again? Great job in the time lapse. You’ve been workin on this project for a bit!! End result is quite impressive, Sister! Oh! You should look up Morla from the movie NeverEnding Story. This planting reminds me of that character. 👍🏼
