@@redking36 if I remember correctly they survive and aren't contaminated, but at the state of their bunker after the boss fight I doubt they survive for long. They also had a son who was drafted to the military before the world changing events, he just disappeared one day, so they've lost two children at this point.

the thing that gets me about this game isn't the "plot twist" since its pretty easy to spot early on, but rather how far they go with it. talking foods as the result of nukes? sure, whatever. actually seeing surviving humans in bomb shelters and *killing* one of them? thats pretty rad and then they just act like that didn't happen. 10/10

What separates this game from almost all other "cute funny game, but actually super dark" is that it never takes itself too seriously. The comedy and tone stay consistent throughout the whole game. There is no moment where it gets super dark. The heavy themes and lore are there from the start if you're looking. This isn't a dig at similar games, btw. I love indie games like this. I just noticed that this game has so much charm, it's writing isn't forced, and it understands the references deeper than just mindlessly throwing them in.

Oh god, I realized the reason an arm came out of Liz’s stomach is because the radiation cause whatever she ate to come to life!

Also the lich is like literally radiation incarnate and there’s an episode where Finn creates a world where the lich was never released... only for his alt reality self to find and accidentally set of a nuke and release the lich.

Didn't really shock me as much, considering that Bug Fables is basically the same concept. What DID shock me was that we killed the humans ourselves, because Bug Fables just talked about them, but never actually showed one. This game took it a step further, and made you kill one yourself.

I was not ready for the rollercoaster of emotions this gave me. Humanity is dead, Veggies learned how to read and write, there was a Mafia, Onion nearly destroyed the world. Turnip Boy is wholesome.

@@devin2254 Nope, the lead dev was the programmer, the guy who wrote the music went to the same school but I’m not too sure about the vocalist. I’m not the original commenter but I’m in the same boat lol, not surprised Yukon ended up making something successful though, he was high key the star student in the game design program.

Never in all my days did i think i would ever come across an extremely family friendly game with relevant and genuinely funny memes about simps, tax evasion, drafting, running from the police, the mafia, twitch culture, internet weebs, reddit copypastas, tiktok, property tax, and more cursed stuff

Oh my god the sirens don't just come on after the bunker. They're there from the start. In the background. Holy fuck. Good lord once you hear it it's everywhere

This game appears to be inspired by a mix of Adventure Time, Zelda, Earthbound, and Undertale with some anime references sprinkled throughout. Super fun to watch as someone who grew up with all of these influences

Just played through this one. I was legitimately expecting a cute and small game when I suddenly wandered into a post apocalyptic creepy pasta. 10/10 experience.

The end credits are strangely beautiful for such a chaotic game, but I guess that adds to it

This reminds me of adventure time It’s all cute and dumb at first, but then you realize it’s all set in a post-apocalyptic hellhole with terrifying amounts of lore and a musical number that’s way better than it deserves to be

@@shibadawn Dude you totally should- I had only watched a bit of it when I was little at first too but on rewatching it, after around season 3 the characters and plot lines get so fleshed out it’s awesome The first few seasons are definitely more kid-friendly though, but it’s still pretty fun to watch

i came to watch this after i watched the start of the rob a bank vid becasue of " two days after killing a god"

I've been pushing watching this for a while now, and I just went to relax on the sofa after getting home from work, erands and all that. And I ended up falling asleep and KZread must've just kept going cause I didn't intentionally put this on. Long story short, I woke up listening to the end credits song, smiling and bopping my foot to the tune and it genuinely was the best feeling I've had in a while. Have an incredible weekend everyone, I love you all!

Well, I was not expecting such deep and traumatic lore and a touching story from a game about a sentient turnip who doesn't pay taxes.

The Turnip Chan drawing was actually pretty cute. Too bad the old lady drew her as a law abiding citizen

Back after finally playing through it, it was more than I could have hoped. I love when cute little games with silly jokes turn into dark histories of nuclear war with radioactive mutation of vegetables. Now grinding the infinite challenge DLC, that's not half bad either.
