    thank you for info - Your idea can be applied to other external samplers/synth with sequencers functions with CC Midi mapping and Parameter Locking - Connecting Microfreak to external to these external gear could mean you program the internal filter / effect also dynamic per 'step' for even more new drum sounds - example: On a Elektron Octatrack it means instant 256 drum sounds variations ' ( 64 drum steps X 4 variations ) on just one microfreak preset + adding filter / effects parameter changes for each Drum Step...

    With the beatstep controlling the microfreak you could either use the step sequence method or finger drum your own beats and record in real time ! Plus beatstep has the assignable encoder knobs you could assign to a plethora of midi control functions as micros to make changes inside the freak . You could use beatstep to run another older synth using its cv outs . Or gate out on a drum Sequence . I have beatstep and liked it so much I upgraded to beatstep pro. Now you can use the roller/ looper strip ( like a beat slicer ) and have access to the last step of every separate track in the sequencer, and also the randomness and probability functions . Worthy creative tools for live performance

    Great video! Hello noise oscillator . Love the way the kick in your sequence remains unaffected by the later oscillator type change-outs . I would have liked to hear what the spice or dice automatic sequence editing buttons would have done with creating rests etc

    Nice work! I noticed recently that “HatsMaker” preset (140 on mine) uses the mod matrix for open/closed hats (Key -> Decay), tuned just right for high C open, low C closed hats- not sure if a variation on that would work here, but your neat and more expansive concept here got me wondering what you might do with an extra automation lane.

  • @ApproachingNoise

    @ApproachingNoise

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you! Since I'm already using the Key->Cutoff modulation in the matrix, it might interfere with that, but I'm sure you can make it work by choosing your notes carefully (maybe you'd have to reverse the Key->Decay modulation so that low C is open and high C is closed, so that low notes can still give you boomy kicks). Or just let go of the key tracking altogether. An extra automation lane could be used for the Shape knob to get even more sound possibilities in your sequence, or maybe even the Amp Envelope Attack, to create noise swells/reverse cymbals. I'll have to give it a try!

    I just got a micro freak and I'm just getting into synths. Ive been using this tutorial kzread.info/dash/bejne/nqF6yqSkpra7fLg.html It has unlocked a lot of the mystery around using an instrument I'm not familiar with. It is long. I've only gotten through half of it but it has helped a lot. It is broken down into chapters which is nice. I spend a little time each night on a specific chapter until I feel I understand it then the next evening I move on to the next chapter.

  • @ApproachingNoise

    @ApproachingNoise

    Жыл бұрын

    Technically, yes. But practically, no, since some sounds can simply be too complex to model and emulate. So even if it's technically possible, it might take too long to make just one particular sound.

    With the new 5.0 firmware update it is possible since it allows to import and play back and manipulate samples of any recorded sound on the MicroFreak.

    What is the major difference between arturia microfreak and vocoder version ? Apart from adding your own voice and modulate it.

  • @ApproachingNoise

    @ApproachingNoise

    No difference. Both have a vocoder. The vocoder version just comes with a microphone in the box, while the normal one doesn't. You can buy the microphone and use it with the normal MicroFreak.
