I became aware today of something that Farmer Tyler truly is. He is a professional cow psychologist. Understanding your animals, you have to think like one. 🤔🐂🤠My respect for you has grown FTR👍
Tyler is so innovative, always finding a solution to a difficult problem!
I could hang out here all day 😂
That ol truck seemed pretty clean inside. What a great purchase for the ranch.
The old stick welder still lays down some good beads!
That old Flatbed Truck comes in handy, huh?

Give it another year and Tyler will wonder how he evver got along without it.
Great fabrication! The flatbed is coming in handy. Cali is such a supportive helper. Another informative video.
i have an 83 dodge flatbed (my truck is blue too) and the possibilities are endless, feeding, hauling wood, fence posts, wire, pulling my gooseneck trailers, etc I love it!!! It has alot of personality dents and scratches but its a valuable piece of equipment on this farm
If I was a Powder River “store” in your area I’d be getting on board with your needs real fast! And if I were a rep in any state I’d be calling to find out why they are worthless to you. That’s just not ok. On a more positive note it’s nice that your cows shared the scratching post with you. Mutual cooperation! Always great video content. Thank you.
The ending was awesome! Made my back itch! LOL!
Tyler dont think there's anything you can't build congratulations on your efforts and knowhow
With all of the thought you put into modifications I am amazed you ever find time to sleep.

It all happens during REM sleep time.🤔👍
It will be so gratifying to work the cattle this fall in your “new” corral. Many hours and sweat equity in that build this summer. Looks ready for the debute.
I called Forest River about your chute. I talked to Alese in the parts department. She doesn't have the part you described. I told her to please make one😊........she said their chutes work just fine. That upset me.......if I were in a business, I would listen to my clients. Guess we will see yet another perfect modification on your chute someday. I'll bet you, my favorite vintage postage stamp, that once you come up with a great prototype and patent it, .........companies will wake the heck up.😊

@@huskigirl123 thank you.
The inside truck roof looks polished.
Good head gate observational design modifications...wonder why manufacturers don't already know these common things cattleman need in a headgate
The perfect ending FTR!
Luv the bump starter on the drill press! 👍💪🙏
Haha loved you using the brush
FTR is the most respectful person on youtube. To hear him say someone is “worthless” is saying something.
12:04 Callie, whenever encouragement is needed, she never far away
Farmer tyler ranch I enjoyed the video and I hope you have a great day
You have multiple talents😊
Yet another great video, so good to hear your thoughts on the various projects you deal with all the time. Very interesting, take care, thank you and have a great day!!
Thanks for sharing farmer tyler ranch I enjoyed the video
Good job on the gate the old dodge comes in handy and the farm in getting in good shape for the up coming year . Great job as usual, have a great day .
Great video bud and a fine gate. Watching from Ireland im a small time farmer here also and spend alot of time fabricating bits for the farm! Keep it up
hello from the Netherlands. thanks for the video Tyler . Kind regards, Hollandduck
Your one of the smartest, and best farmers!!!
You don't seems to amazes me each time I listen to you 😊
Tyler is an awesome creator! Your stuff works...
At 10:12 hope you're ok seeing that nuke rising behind you must have been a shock!
I love seeing that old drill press. It's just like the one my grandpa and dad had when I was growing up.
Come spring all that rice hay will be some good fertilizer for your fields.
Always enjoy your videos. Great way to start my morning. Farmer Tyler Ranch and a cup of Joe.
That back scratcher is not just for cows. . . . as you demonstrated. 😊
Not just for cows... I need one of those! Actually, my wife gives me grief for it but, I find the old loop type toilet brush to be great as a back / leg scratcher. (Get a new one)
I love how you explain things.😊
I was just looking at the Powder River site and they have replacement ratchets and it looks to me like you would be able to fabricate one. They look to be steel not cast iron. Seeing you fabricate things I am positive you would be able to fabricate one. Good luck!
Another great video always enjoy your creative problem solving. Keep Smiling and Stay Grateful
Love the sound of that Dodge!!!
My Dad always said get a bigger hammer😂 do get why you're changing it tho
I would give Lakeland or Arrowquip a call about a close-match replacement ratchet for your crush. (I am rather loyal to local Manitoba industry!) The geometries are fairly universal in the industry and they just may have an off the shelf swap that could work. At the very least they could make an induction hardened steel replacement to order for your specifications. Of course, any decent machine shop could do the same.
You've got mad skills!!! Wish I could weld, I have a cheap HF welder and I've done a few small projects, but my welds look like crap, most of them hold though..... But I wish it was better...
Good looking gate FT, great job! Really love the concentration and consideration for your cattle! You’re a good farmer and never stop considering the best way to tackle things that come up! God’s blessings!❤❤❤
Mr Tyler is the cow 🐄 whisperer🤠👍🏽🎉
Nothing like a good scratching post!
That gate looks great Tyler nice job putting it together should last many years thank you for sharing blessings to you and your family
Enjoyed watching the video Tyler😊
Hi Tyler and Callie and Family 10-31-2023❤
Great video, Tyler! It's great how you share your thoughts on how and why you're fabricating something.
😂😂😂 that clip at the end! Who’da thunk Tyler’s just another one of the cows!! 😜
You and Callie would certainly turn heads while driving along the main street of town. 😎
Keep Pushing and Creating Tyler, as Always u Rock, and ur Resource Skills r Top Notch. U r such a Trooper, Always going to be that way. Thank u for sharing!
Good Morning, Tyler and Callie! Finishing the Project! Wire Feeder! Love your Explanation! Almost 8:36 Finished! Test Run on Gate Hinge! The Old Ford! The Smoke! Burning the Rice Field! Happy Halloween! Our Trick or Treat is a measurable snow ❄️ today! More Ideas! Great Video! Very Interesting! Than-you! Happy Halloween! ❤️❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice welds!
You're so lucky with your tools and creative with your recycling…after the last storm I have an excess of water, any chance of some wine? 🤞😂🥃
I changed the head gate on a chute to a Priefert one. The handle is parallel to the chute so it doesn't stick out. Also there is no ratchet so they close to any point, using a gripping system that just requires a little WD40 a year. Has worked well . Good luck. Those sure latches work great, have added on to them without problems. Solid gates always keep animals from jumping as they can't see where they are goung.

I second the Priefert head gate. I’ve used 1 since I started. WD-40 is all I’ve done to it in 10 years.
So enjoyed helping you with your gate. Most of all I got a kick out of your new backscratcher. "Not just for cows," made me laugh out loud. 😂
It was cool to see the flatbed in use and in the video the yard is looking great
20:43 I would add a 2x4x(height of the gate) to mount to the wall. Much easier than building a new latch for the gate side. But the 2x4 would close up that gap and reduce how much they can see down the lane.💖🌞🌵 😷
Thank you for taking with you.
You got the talking part over. You, Pete, and I all own triplet roosters! They never shut the heyell up. We need more cows! And pigs and chickens and turkeys.
It would be so nice if AeroQuip would sponsor you. They have sponsored other KZreadrs with less cattle than you have.
Suggestion-use some of the scrap wood boards as fillers between the metal bars
Through the winter, see if adding additional rice bales would be beneficial. I'm glad you were not scratching up and down a little lower. 😂😂😂😂
You explained that very well. I'd be so annoyed I don't think I could disguise it very well. Good job.
NORTH4O outfitters seems to sell chute parts for powder river chutes. Hope this helps.
Good vlog, Tyler. Enjoyed the welding chat, the fixes, and watching you create.
We here in the welding community call it flux core wire. Get with the program! 😂
Ole Dodges have a distinct sound when that starter starts whining 😂
If you ever need a 2nd job, you would make an excellent shop teacher 🇨🇦♥️🇨🇦
You have a classic vintage vise, that would be expensive to replace new. good watch.
You're so good at talking to the camera. I am home sick and got loss in your videos. I
@Arrowquip Please help Tyler out like you’ve helped the Doss family. Tyler is so smart and has transformed many pieces of equipment with his talents. He deserves your help. Thank you! His 115k subscribers would be so thankful.
Thank you for sharing.🐂🐄
Oh snap 😅. You lost me at the hinges but I picked back up pretty quick 😂😂
Nice work Tyer have a good day.
You are good at welling thing's
Great video, thank you love your back scatter.
I love when I have a question about something and you answer it moments later. Just when I was thinking could he just turn it over to still put the hinge on the stronger side... you said you didn't want to do that. It didn't matter why to me, just that you'd thought of that.
I would give Arrowquip a call and see if you could work something out. Just recently saw videos from other farm channels and they appear to be VERY customer driven. You never know, maybe you could work out a deal.
I love your narratives! So informative! I’m not experienced, but can’t you just cut down the head gate panels? Put your own round pipe guards on the new edges? Cut a slot in a couple pieces of pipe to slip over the edge… Of course, that doesn’t address the ratchet issue, but another commenter suggested trying another brand’s to see if it would work. Either that or throw your hands up and buy another squeeze shoot [ug and ouch!] Anyway, that’s my idea. I really enjoy your videos and watch them in my 1st few viewings 👍👏😁!❤
Callie: I'd love to help you, dude, but you see, I've got these paws.... 😂
I usually call it Flux Core. Never heard Iner shield wire. Must be a west coast thing.
Love ur sense of humor and love the videos. Keep up the good work
Hi mate I have a suggestion about fixing the cattle yard ground true the wet season you can lay some send 👋👍🍻
Roger your comment about the local PR store!! I agree with coracobb3917 below!! Your gate is definitely "Field Expedient" Callie looks good riding "Tall and Shotgun"!! Good post!
@Arrowquip might be a good opportunity to get your squeeze chutes to someone who could use it.
Tyler I used my Hobert 140 welder yesterday. I used 1/16" rod to weld some thin metal. Yes you really have to be careful not to burn through.. Flux core much better.
Hi FTR I have simillar setup to you, I would have hung my gate from the hog barn. With your chute, drill another hole 1" in on the horzital actuating arm to alter the pinch. from New Zealand
Perhaps you could get a sponsorship with arrowquip??
I like the idea of the straw in the mud however When I use some hay in my wet spot the smell of it was horrible hard to be around Id like to know if the straw will smell that bad
I would keep the chute narrow as it is, keep them moving slowly
Three different methods of welding. Learn something new on the channel daily.
I been watching Doss farm and he uses Arrowquip and he really likes their stuff might give them a call , like the old dodge and Cali is such a good helper

Thankfully not every one is a silvertongue like Chad !!!! Farmer Tyler has far more integrity and moral standing than to lower himself to that of a silvertongue !!!! I'd be utterly shocked if FT would use the silvertongues method of acquiring equipment for his farm. Threatening companies with alerting thousands of subscribers to the failings of said company, is a type of blackmail but used very well by dilvertongues. I'd know, I married one and nearly died of shame for the privilege. FT has far too much decency and integrity to stoop down to a silvertongues level. Oh, and by the way Mary, you've also been silvertongued by Chad Doss.

Nice gate plus tall is good. Looked like the wood fence post tops had room for one more 2 x 4 to increase visual height. Well done! I do enjoy your thoughts, analysis and conclusions as you progress through each fabrication. Can the cattle chute ratchet mechanism be fabricated with decreasing distance tooth spacing to make smaller adjustments as it gets closer to the cows neck?
Outstanding video, thanks
Little bit of oil on those gate pins be the easy way to get them on or spray a bit of wd 40 on also
A local fab shop may be able to build you a racket out of high carbon steel. I have done this in the past.
