As much as i love early MT and how it shows off the world. The real meat of the story(imo) is getting here and im here for it.

I think since this story is supposed to be about showing Rudy’s whole life, the school arc is made somewhat “mundane” to show that in life there isn’t always crazy life changing events happening every day, sometimes you just go through the motions, and a school is a perfect setting to show that. I will admit the school arc didn’t exactly meet all my expectations. I was expecting more Harry Potter instead of it just being in the background, but I understand what they were trying to do, it never lost me.

TP1: Rudy, did I just catch ya trynna get a GF? TP2: Rudy, did I just catch ya walking the home stretch? TP3: Rudy, did I just catch ya gettin' yer life together?

Ik a bunch of ppl don't like that this show is a slice of life at its core, but imo all the developments from the slice of life is what gives the action-filled arcs and turning points so much more weight. Also, one of the observations/details you guys caught/remembered in this episode was kinda wild since I've literally seen no other reactor mention it so far.

I think that's what makes it a good Isekai. Breaks away from all the common tropes and creates its own unique story. A lot of Isekai are copy and paste for the most part.

@@Reanimatedyt The beauty of the writing of the story is the frequent use of Chekhov's Gun. The author drops so many tiny hints and gives so many details that are later used in the story. The thing being referenced here is established fact in the books and in the anime, but Rudeus doesn't even think of it since it's a) forbidden knowledge, b) she isn't supposed to share the info at all because of a). Another example of the author just dropping a detail into the text was Rudeus' encounter with Kishirika. Her outfit made him think she might be _a certain kind of demon_ rather than a local demon kid, but then remembered Paul telling him _those things_ are only encountered in Begaritt, so there's no way one could be in Wind Port.

15:45 Pursena's actually the one with the bigger bust. The dog breed of the beast races are generally the bustier ones, and Beastfolk women in general are buxom. That's something of a source of consternation to Sylphie, since her mother was part beast, and she didn't inherit that particular trait.

A neat thing with that scroll is that she advised him to make a template out of earth magic so he can print as many as he needs. And he can sell individual copies to the Magic Guild. She got him the means of printing money! Zanoba doesn't find her freaky or get disgusted by Ginger... He finds her to be a nag. She constantly corrects minor etiquette mistakes he does. Have to say about the Man-God telling Rudeus that Paul would've sent the sisters to Lilia's folks... That would've been a very bad idea. They're already in their 60s or 70s, for one; and the mother absolutely detested Paul to the point of throwing wine bottles at him even before he forced himself on Lilia on his way out. Aisha might be welcomed as their granddaughter, but what do you think the grandmother would've thought of the daughter of the man who brought so much woe to her household? The grandfather might find the irony fitting as he'd wanted Paul to marry Lilia in the first place.

I think the pursena(dog) is supposed to have a bigger bust than linia. Both both are filled out tho. Pursena being like G Linia being E or F.

@@Tounushi yeah most of them do we got ghislaine as an example. Pursena little sister teresena from episode 15 seemed to have fast growth as well. And while linia sister and ghislaine's neice will probably get some kind of pubertity growth as well. But yeah sylphie it doesn't seem to be the case

There's more to this turning point, but it requires some thinking of how this one affects the rest of the story. As you watch/read the story up to this point, it might look like Rudeus deciding to go is the precise Turning Point event, but I see it as a foregone conclusion. And him going on a 2-3 year journey is what is _supposed_ to happen.

This whole arc is going to be crazy🔥

In the book it was a loincloth, not a chastity belt.

Oh god, I don't know what's going to happen, but something about this makes me feel SICK. Like, if Rudy didn't go and followed what Man-God said, he'd at least have a lot of "happiness" in his life. If he didn't leave but didn't follow what the Man-God said, he would at least have what he has going on now, which is pretty good. Now that he LEFT, he is GUARANTEED regret.

Turning points are just things that drastically change the path that Rudy is on. First one stopped Rudy from going home to get Sylphie and go to the Ranoa school of magic/getting involved politically with the Greyrat family by marrying Eris. Second one is what causes Eris to leave him and set him on his solo journey to find his mom, as Orsted showing up made Eris realize how weak she was/how she couldn’t defend Rudy. Eris leaving mentally scarred Rudy for years (Orsted too, as we saw him pass out seeing Nanahoshi, but also introduced him to her). Third one we haven’t really seen the consequences/what the turning point truly turns out to be since we simply only saw him turn so far, which is Rudy leaving instead of being with his family and raising his child/living a regular life. He now has to set out on this 2 year journey in attempt to save his mom, which we will see how it actually was a “turning point” in his life probably when the journey concludes or a bit afterwards. You guys catching the teleportation circle thing is cool cause i haven’t seen a single other reactor catch it. When i was reading the light novel a little more emphasis was put on those, and i also got through it a lot quicker than the anime did especially since we had a 6 month hiatus between part 1 and 2. Due to that though, it’s also the first thing my mind went to when Rudy mentioned how long the journey was. There must be some way to travel faster since Nanahoshi was able to do it and get around the entire world in 2 years, while it took Rudy 2 years just to get home from the demon continent (granted the demon is the pretty far away from the central and he passed though the whole Milis continent too) which most would consider that pretty fast.

The most peaceful turning point we've had thus far.

The thing with Turning Points is that there's the specific event and then there's a period of flux where the story and in-world events can go in different directions. TP1 was a major upset from a singular event. TP2 was the encounter with the Man-God, with many points where things could've gone different. Rudeus could've STFU, but he felt compelled to speak to Orsted. Nanahoshi could've just left things be, but she decided on a whim to ask Orsted to heal Rudeus. It's not as if this was the first time she witnessed Orsted killing somebody, but something about Rudeus made her uneasy.
