This song is so special to me because it reminds me of my friend who moved away and things were long distance and harder to keep in touch, and she moved to a bigger city and that idea of wondering do you miss me do you still treasure those times etc. the way taylor writes is so special because anyone can relate to her lyrics and make them make sense for their own situations. She puts all of those confusing feelings and frustrations that you cant seem to describe into words that are so accurate sometimes it hurts.

I don’t know if it’s true but I always thought Selena Gomez was the inspiration for Dorothea. And Selena’s grandparents put her in patents as a child while her parents worked through their schooling. Selena also has her own cosmetic line which is mentioned in the song too.
