Turning a Log into a Snapping Turtle
Ойын-сауық
Today we are turning a big old white pine log into a snapping turtle! Due to a change in the clients timeline, I started this project around mid winter and didn't finish it until this spring! This turtle will be presented by the client as a gift to some close friends of hers who have a meaningful story behind the snapping turtle.

Just amazes me how you can look at plain old log, visualize your idea, and create a masterful piece of art from it. You Rock with that chainsaw!

Thank you so much! Sometimes I swear they carve themselves to an extent!
Fantastic. I love the burning. The carving really starts to pop. 👏🏻
Wow he came out great. I love how his head is turned one way and the tail the other way. Makes him look like he can walk right off that rock at any moment!
Fantastic results!
Love your choice of music! Tay your a very realistic craver ! I don’t know if I’ve missed some of your work lately but don’t stop your videos
Beautiful work
Absolutely fantastic carving. As I’ve said before I kind of run out of words to describe the great carvings!!

I'm very backed up on footage! Hope to get two videos out about the carving competitions I went to in April soon! Then I have carvings from May and this month that I filmed! Just need to find the time to edit them! I do have a cute bear on order this month I will be filming!
I love how you've captured the essence of the snapping turtle with such detail and care. It's bound to bring joy and carry a heartfelt story. This snapping turtle isn't just a sculpture; it's a labor of love and a tribute to a special friendship. What a wonderful gift!

I don't know the story in detail, but you are definitely correct about there being a heartfelt story behind this piece. It's a memorial for a life that was lost too soon :( I hope this peace can help the family with their healing journey 💛

Well done. Remarkable detail.
Another fine job you have a great eye for detail…..
Beautiful work of art!
If you can see the potential in a plain piece of wood... can you see the potential in us pilgrims? You have a wonderful skill and most pleasant demeanor?
Fabulous Work. "Bravo"
That turtle looks pretty snappy! 😊. Music ear worm at the start has me figuring out what to do with a drunken sailor. Thanks and great work.

I figured a turtle was nautical enough to use one of my favorite jams...at least I'm telling myself is nautical enough 😆
That really did turn out stunning Tay, beautifull piece :)

Very nice lots of detail thank you for sharing
Looks amazing great work as always ❤
AMAZING! 🙌🏻
That is very amazing 👏 job 🇺🇸 well done 👏 😊
This is awesome, as is most everything you do. But it made me think of a couple of downed tree trunks along side the road in Farmington, Me. Side by side as it gets dark they look just like an alligator coming out of the woods with its jaws agape. I'd love to see that, in case you are looking for ideas. 😂
Looks awesome, added 5, 6 POSTS of wood carvings you'll love.
Brilliant ❤.

Wow, that looks fantastic! You make it look so easy. I did end up making a mushroom. Holding the saw up for so long really made my arms tired and the saw started feeling like it weighed 100 pounds :-/ Anyway thanks for another great video.

I remember that feeling, I call it noodle arms lol! In a few of my earlier videos I mention it, these day I hold them up for around 6-9 hours a day, you just build up strength over time but it's still is one h*ll of a workout! 😅
Brava❤❤❤❤
Fantastic Turtle Tay, love the colour shade you have given it to. P.S did you have problems getting the base to sit straight, i find it such a pain trying to get a piece to sit level after cutting it with a chainsaw.
You the boss!

Delightfully. Please turn on the subtitles in Russian. Of course, I understand English, but not perfectly. It is very pleasant to watch and listen to you, thank you! 🤗😍👍👐🐢
I really appreciate the work you do. A lot of talent and skill you have. Questions for you- Are you an artist on paper or paints before getting into chainsaw carving? Did you get any books for tutorials or did you just dive right into it? Last question, what is the hardest part to get things to look right? Thank you for the videos. I find myself binge watching and hope I can pick up on some good tips how you do your carvings.

I was a registered nurse working on a ventilator unit prior to carving, big career path change haha! I got a cheap $90 electric saw off of Amazon and just gave it a try one day and really enjoyed it, so much so I made this my full time job! The hardest part is just getting started!

@@TayMarie23 Thank you for replying! Sounds like something fun to do and something I want to try. Have a great day!
Привет. Молодец 👍👍👍
I admire your artistic and carving skills! It came out great! Is it a combination of wood burning, paint and stain plus clear coat?
@TayMarie23
20 күн бұрын
Yes yes and yes! I didn't get as much footage during the finish process as I would have liked. But yes, it's mostly torching with some stains for shadows and then 4 thinned down coats of Spar Urethane :)
Love watching your videos, you are so talented, Do you carve from request from your subscribers? I have a dog I would love a wood carving of him,

Got to say , the burning just makes it happen, then the staining. Personally, I wouldn’t want anything painted

@@TayMarie23 ok I had emailed earlier a few weeks ago about a turtle I was just curious.
hello, the turtle has beautiful eyes, yes, life is changing, there is no template to live by 👫, everything is for the better, I wish you success in everything, your job is dangerous, they say sometimes the chain flies off and cripples, God forbid you from this, maybe you will feel better sew clothes at a garment factory♥️
😍❤
