Anyone else wish that any singular person had been even half as enthusiastic, supportive, and impressed with anything they had done in life as Mia's mum seems by everything that Mia does? Not implying that it isn't well deserved, I just think that it's the sweetest.

@@ktp111 Thank you! I am not sure what to do. I don't feel like I have done much different than I was before when I was losing weight. Apparently I must be eating too much. I guess. I will have to write down what I am eating. I feel like I am eating about the same amount of calories but I must be increasing because the weight just isn't coming off like it was before. I am so tired of being overweight. I would feel better if I lost even one more pound because then I would be able to tell that I am making progress again. Sorry for the long winded answer. I just don't really have anyone to talk to about it.

A couple tips from a cake decorator! 1- freezing the cake before you ice, especially if it’s been cut, definitely helps keep the cake intact 2- filling a piping bag and icing the cake that way, and then smoothing off the excess also really helps keep the cake intact because you’re not spreading it directly on the cake and putting unnecessary pressure on it!

When she says “I have the gold flakes, icing, and those flowers.” Reminds me of when you get all the three final clues on Blues Clues and have to figure out what they make 😂

Oh yes! It would be fun! They should put a bunch of options in a cup and pull from there and then work with it. Like they can pull 5-10 things that are a mix of tools, colors, ingredients etc I feel like that would be sooo fun!

Yes and the walls and cabinets are different now. The walls are not the same. She painted them using a stencil. But I like it more now. And the lower cabinets she made them green, also the upper cabinets had black painted handles.

You can get large sheet cakes for less than the grocery stores at the warehouse stores like Sam's and Costco too. So if you wanted to keep playing around with these you can save a bit of money if you don't want to spend so much time baking cakes and making your kitchen hot in the summer with hours of using the oven. I had looked at the website and they had 1/2 sheet cakes without the icing in packs of 6 for $39.00 (price may vary depending on location).

Mia when making a two tier cake like these ones you should really put like boba straws or something similar to that down the centre of the bottom cake for stability 😅

another way to save wedding cake money is order a smaller tiered cake to cut & for photos and then have sheet cakes in the back

We had a fully fake cake at mine. It was cardboard that had icing on it. The top layer was real for us to cut. Then they wheeled it away and came back with sliced caked from the back. No one knew. Saved us $400

Mia does the best streams of consciousness that I have ever heard...funny, relatable that coalesces into a beautiful design. While Paul Hollywood might quibble about using fresh flowers, instead of edible ones, that cake was beautiful. It was oddly calming to watch it being decorated and assembled, so hopefully it was not too stressful to accomplish. Love to see more of these pinterest-level cakes.

well just keep at it.. it's just cake! You never know what will happen. About 40 years ago I took a cake decorating class with a friend. I quickly found out that I have a heavy hand.. while my friend turned out cakes that were really pretty. I did learn so much though.. little hacks like how to stripe a piping bag with different colors, add in your white icing and then pipe out a blob of icing, add a plastic clown head and viola.. you have a really cute beginning for a kid's cake. I also learned how to make "pancoat".. which is flour and crisco mixed together.. you store it and brush it on your cake pans for an inexpensive substitute for Baker's Joy and easier than greasing and flouring. I don't know if they still teach Wilton cake decorating.. I think they did pre-pandemic at like Hobby Lobby, but not positive about that. Just have fun with it! There have been so many advances since I took my class.

When Mia says "with little talent" its crazy she's the most talented person I've ever seen!

You might not see this but just a note so the top layer won’t keep shaking as you frost the cake. You’ll need to put a layer of frosting to fuse the top and bottom cake layers together. This also helps break the cake apart so you don’t have have a huge block of just cake in your mouth. Looking forward to more baking videos! ✨

If you freeze the cakes for a bit before you crumb coat it will go so much smoother. Then refrigerate or freeze before you do the second layer of icing. It’s easier to get the icing coated evenly and smoothly. 😊

No...icing is so much easier on a round cake than a square one. Way less edges and just swirling it around while scraping helps alot to get it smooth in an easy way

Just a tip guys. If you use frozen Icing, rewhip to incorporate the air it would have lost. It will definitely give wayyyy better texture and more easy to pipe and decorate with!!!!
