Right she talked about those damn flower the last couple min of the vid and didn’t even show us I feel so uncompleted like an itch that wasn’t scratched lol. Maybe they just looked that bad? But I doubt it she’s so talented we probably could’ve told her that they don’t look as bad as she thinks.

As a cake decorator, I appreciate the shout out for our wrists! I'm 27 and I've been decorating professionally since 15, and the carpal tunnel and arthritis is real! This looks great! As a cake decorator, when you want to put sprinkles on a cake, place the sprinkles in a large opening container. Hold the cake in your non-dominant hand, lean at a 45 degree angle and use your dominant hand to press the sprinkles into the fresh icing (you don't want to let it set too long). Tap/wipe the excess sprinkles into the container, transfer the leftover sprinkles back into the original container.

It’s the abrupt ending for me 😂. Great video!

Mia I’m a cake decorator and try buying a quick icing tip and a cake scraper. They should help you to frost the cake quicker and smooth the sides. also an offset spatula is key for smoothing the top:) You did great either way though

I've got that "That Was Easy" button too! I use mine when I give my cat her meds. The pill goes down, then the liquid pain killer, then she gets a kiss on the head, I press the button, and give her some of her magic crunchies. She's a sweetheart for sure.

I'd like the layers to alternate: chocolate/peppermint/chocolate/peppermint with pink peppermint icing. Yum! I have a bday cake, it's 3 days old and we haven't cut into it! Yes. true. And the grocery today had cakes for 2.49 ea. They were coconut ones. Have a great week!

I am quite shocked those cakes cost 5.00, that's quite a steal, even if it was reduced price. Grocery stores where I live they'd be at least 15-20 for a round cake, even at Walmart they aren't that cheap.

I was just thinking lately that I miss Mia's cake videos then this came out. This video is so much fun! I was screaming at the end though because I wanted to see the cake close-up LMAO.

When you use sprinkles put your cake in a large tray. Then simply collect the fallen sprinkles back in your jar or container. It's less waist that way. For a beginner decorator, I suggest doing the flowers on a piece of baking paper and then chilling them in the fridge. Then just press them on the cake when they've set. Love the idea of cake transformation, done it a couple of times myself. Keep up.

Hi Mia 🥺 I decorate cakes at Safeway and the biggest thing for my wrists is twisting the piping bag closer to the tip, like way lower. It is twisted low enough when my arm/ hand doesn’t shake and it doesn’t hurt. 💕💕

adding a teeny tiny bit of orange to the blue buttercream would’ve helped with the “too blue” issue, it would’ve toned it down a bit (since blue and orange are opposite on the color wheel)

I agree about just have fun. I decorated cakes professionally but as an artist I would always stress about perfection. With cakes I felt as long as it tastes good then I am fine! That attitude helped me improve until I was getting paid to do cakes!

One of the easiest ways to get a smooth top coat is to coat the cake then keep your spatula wet while smoothing.

This is not a low quality. I loved it so worth the watching. You should have a button that locks your wheel from spinning. You can also use a paper plate as a guide to put on the sprinkles. Practice your design on wax paper and when your done scrap off and back in bowl. Alway leave out a cup or two of white icing to add to the icing if you tint to dark. Happy baking. We need a full video of you baking a 4 Tier cake and doing the icing from scratch. Pick a coke on Pinterest and see how close ya get. This is really good for either of your channels. We love the videos keep them coming please.

I LOVE your baking vids!! Adding a very small amount of an opposite(ish) color to your buttercream will mute the color, so to a bright blue adding a verryy small (like tip of a toothpick sometimes) amount of red, orange, or even purple will mute it so it is not so electric. Just try it in a small bowl to get a feel for the specific colors of your food dye bc warm vs cool red will have varying impacts. It won't lighten the color but the inspo pic just looked like a slightly muted blue as well

I took cake decorating classes as a kid and to get the cakes really smooth we would wait for the buttercream to dry a little and use wax paper to light smooth it out with our fingers! We just lightly placed held the wax paper around the sides and smoothed over it with our fingers!
