Jerry's dad helped create and then sang with the Betterway Quartet for many years. As for Granny Turner and her boys, I had the privilege to play bass for them at a Monday night show back at 'The Motel' at Cove Lake. What a spirit that great lady possessed; and her love for God was genuine and compelling. Buster - a terrifice songwriter (Beautiful Altar of Prayer, etc), Harold - a gifted tenor singer and great personality himself, and Bill - who built a very fine upright bass and is quite a gifted artist himself, could all make you feel like family. Bill's son Bryan Turner took my place with PMRR when i left in Fall 2009 and is just as talented in music as his whole family. Granny Turner was a walking testimony and great woman. Jerry Cole also joined PMRR before moving on with IIIrd Tyme Out and Doyle Lawson/Quicksilver and then founded Authentic Unlimited, a terrific bluegrass band. And one of the best banjo pickers anywhere, Floyd Bailey, accompanied the Turner family on these two numbers. Floyd is also another friend and super East TN picker.
That's a momma love, love u momma, bluegrass southern fam

I sang with Buster Turner and His mother on her Birthday I think it was 95 not sure It was in to her 90's we sang at Busters Music place and radio station in Tawswell Tennesse ,,,many years ago around 1998 ,or later cant remember but his mother was still alive we three sing Lord Im depending on you ,,,
Uncle Harold also did a Sunday evening gospel hour on the radio every week for 30 plus years. Maybe longer. I know mom has quite a few tapes of that. It has alot of our Turner family singing on it as well as our Uncle Hubert preaching. As i said, i will get some stuff and post some on our Stonewalls channel soon. Ive got one audio of Buster, Harold, and Paul Williams on it singing a few songs.
Rip, granny Sally

Sally died in 2004 I believe. Bill Turner (the right handed guitar player) is still living, but her other two sons, Harold and Buster passed away in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
