@@driftingastronaut My Phone still works after using it for 4 years on the phone mount. But I must note that my A50 doesn't have any filigrane camera bits which could get damaged by movement. Where as you'd also need to give me some proper scientific papers which state that your phone mount absorbs the micro vibrations which could damage your camera for me to believe it tho.

I have a no name bicycle mount for 10 bucks for over 5 years. My iPhone 6s I use as navigator has no camera stabilizer anyway.

I recently went ‘Quadlock’ system for my phone and it is brilliant. In addition to the bar mounts for each of my bikes, plus vibration slayer 4000, I really like the small adhesive mounts for putting anywhere. I have one on my bedhead and my girlfriends car. And the car vent mount is great to. A bit of an investment, but once you do, you are much better off. I like the reservoir mount.. I just might do that!

Love the humour, never tried a Quadlock myself I got the Peak Design mount as it seemed more minimalist for me, and comes with a vibration slayer 4000 by default, everyone knows 4000 is better than 3000... Actually had someone try to grab the phone on a passing moped, please to say they failed, I imagine the Quadlock would also achieve similar results.

I would like to see a proper trial of the attempted grab and run. Like full force, the way a guy trying to steal would do it.

i put a phone pouch with a window to my bike with zip ties. Works like a charm and i can also put PostIt notes in it when i don't wanna use my navigator but only write down road numbers for my days route.

An idea for those worried about your phones camera system. I had my old phone on a quad lock while I was away on a 6 day ride with friends. I hit some pretty bad roads washed out after some minor flooding. It held up very well. Some pot holes were almost able to fit my helmet, and the phone never moved. It still takes great photos. But just in case, I now throw my new phone in my tank bag and still use my old phone on my handlebars. I'm not worried about my camera, or getting damaged from a crash, stone being tossed by the car in front. So don't throw away your old phones.

i still prefer ram mounts because i highly dislike the amount of dust that gets into the quad lock case. had my ram mount on the mirror of an r1 doing well over legal speeds; never once felt like it was going to fall off. the big tip is to remember to glue the rubber knobs on to the x wings.

I recently got a quadlock for my sportbike and enduro navigation. Was really impressed by the quality of the products and even packaging, and it feels solid. Recommended

I bought a phone holder from Ali for 25$. The benefit of that is that it rattles so bad when phone is not attached that I can't hear valves hitting head or exhaust guards rattling. So it's a dual purpose device. Must buy.

I just watched a 7 and a half minute infomercial for Quad Lock! Seriously though, I have one and I love it. Great little product

They also have a waterproof wireless charging head, so you don't have to worry about your phone going dead on a long ride. I have one on my bike and one in my car (though the summer heat made quick work of the adhesive pad in the car, and I am looking at alternative mounting locations to hopefully combat that (or maybe just breaking down and buying an extra trim panel and bolting the thing to it)

I def prefer my ram mount! I don't like the quadlock simply because i don't want my phone mount to determine what case i have to use!! My Ram mount can be used with any case!

biggest thing that makes me wonder is why do you want your main phone attached to the motorbike? if your in a high speed accident and your bike goes off the motorway verge into a ditch or off a cliff and you dont, you have no phone to call for help. my set is i have an ultimateaddons phone case and mount and i use my old sony phone attached to the bike for my map/sat nav, and i wifi hotspot my main phone and thats in my inside jacket pocket, so then if the bike goes down, i can phone for help if survive the fall.

Using Quad Lock for years. Not sure why they even need advertisement. Using daily on my HD with additional damper, on mountain bike, also on ATV. Tried many and this feels the best. Great extension accessories. Only downside are phone cases which needs to be updated with each iPhone.

Got one recently, using the fork stem mount & love it. Only problem is the case feels horrible in your hands. Would be great if they'd supply some kind of attachment that locks in to the slot to cover up the hole.

thanks for the video. all these years i could never figure out how to ride my motorcycle while holding the map in one hand, riding while looking at the map and same time from the wind blowing it away. i now use the mobile holder and use google maps. and if u have new phones with OIS camera.. use the mobile mounts that has vibration dampening.......or the phone camera will be damaged

I have a X mount knock off and it has so far served me well. I have a huge ass aftermarket windshield on my 390 adv so it doesn't have to work too hard😅

Same for me! Mine came with a rubber “spider web” thingy to trap the phone for extra protection. Gotta say that after a year it’s still working flawlessly on my Dual Sport

As you can easily see at 6:16 the problem with this case is that it has no space for the screen protector. Every time I use mine it lift up a corner and you then have to live with the bubbles. Apart for that and the price it’s pretty good

I think it depends on the screen protector. I have the iPhone 13 Pro Max and it fits perfectly with a cheap Amazone screen protector

Got one as my first mount. it works pretty well, but its expensive.. Especially, when you have a car as well and you want the same mount for it too, so you dont need a second case or something like that

I've always wanted a quad lock but they didnt fit on my handlebars, so it's great to hear about the new mounts! Now I don't have to swap my bars to mount my phone 😁

Have you looked into the Pro handlebar model? I believe that might offer more sizes. Either way there are plenty other mount options

@@ChaosCauses the issue with my handlebars comes from not having enough space on the narrow open parts, but the brake reservoir mount seems like a solid option without modifying my handlebars

What are the rivals with vibration dampening ?

Love my QuadLock. Been using for 4+ years now.

This kind of mounts have the problem that if you fall and slide in a different direction than your bike you'll be unable tubuse it to call. Is there any solution, some cable that pulls the phone with you or anything similar??

I have one of my old Galaxy phones with no SIM, and my Chinese Quadlock (Fraudlock I call it) that works great for a dedicated GPS.

While I don’t doubt the phone mounts mentioned to hold the phone secure, I value my phone to much to expose it to this torture. I know what happens when the sun shines on glass (hint, it gets hot). And then if the phone screen is on for long periods of time or even if charging, it gets even hotter. In my personal experience, even if the battery does survive (with a reduced lifespan), it melts the water “resistant” gasket. YMMV

(no paid viewer or something, I'm a legit rider of my CBR650R) Using QuadLock for 5+ years, Honda CBR650R being the 2nd bike with QuadLock Fork Stem Mount, as well as MTB handlebar mount for my cycling activities. My review: it's GOOD. Very good. Very handy and easy to use. The downside? I'm not an iPhone user, so I have to use the "universal mount" on top of the 2nd party case for my ASUS Zenfone 9. That adds an extra level of thickness, so I put my phone into that case only when I know that I'll be riding my Honda or my MTB. Other than that I prefer a more slim case. Overall, can recommend the QuadLock, yes.

I have a cheap one and it's the third I use. Had one waterproof with zipper but the mounting was terrible weak. I may give it try to these, but there's something that bothers me: magnetics. I don't know about new phones, but I could never use a magnetic case for my S9 bc the compass didn't worked and that's the most important thing for navigation

I've been using the RAM X-Grip for about 10 years now on a mix of bikes - Yamaha XV100, Vespa 150, Ducati Monster S4R, Buell XB12S, Honda VFR 800, Honda ST1100 - no problems with vibrations or loss of phones and I like that I don't need to add bulk to the phone with a special case. The only thing I'd suggest is to buy aftermarket silicone bungees as they give peace of mind that the phone won't come out of the X-grip (not that I've ever had this happen - even without the bungees) plus the originals snap super quickly. p.s. I think the captions are the wrong way around at 4.33 ...

Tried QL with my last phone and it somehow jammed so I ended up leaving the QL case permanently fixed to the bike and just removed the phone from the case after a ride. I now use a Tackform mount which is robust enough and better suits my S21U with S-Pen case.

Had quad lock for a good few years and ridden off road around Europe not a problem.

It will, however start to push your screen protector off. I've had to slice off areas in the corners to stop this happening. When contacting Quadlock they weren't even slightly interested. 3 different phones. Same thing each time. Samsung suggested curved edge. Don't think it happens with a flat screen though.

My problem with quad lock is the price. And as Harley Parkinson driver I NEED all the vibration dampeners and doodats. And I also need all the extra money to keep the bike running.

Started on a Ram mount and its awesome for my tourer, buuuuuut for my dual sport it wasn’t practical with the vibes - got a Quad mount and its been really nice (with the vibe dampener). It was VERY expensive though!! And required a specific case which is only a mediocre case…but ive kept with it.

That's exactly why I've stuck with my ram mount! I don't trust my 1800$ phone in that junky case!

My bike came with a quad lock but not the dampener. This wrecked my camera on the phone, so I recommend getting the dampener.

still heard a lot of stories that the cameras still break even with the vibration dampener....

Only the newest phones have the flat case. All the previous ones aren't flat and will rock on the table. But other than that, I've been enjoying my quadlock

I use the universal quad lock, and it's gorilla glued to my phone case as I don't use Samsung or Apple. I cruise at 80mph on the highway to work, no worries after 2 weeks of use. Yes the dampener is awesome!

the system works when the phone has a specific case, and they are available only for a few of them. Now you better don't use the universal adapter unless you don't like your phone and want to lose it fast. Now not to mention that if you spend your money on a wireless mount charger, you better throw it away because it doesn't work with the universal charger. Ask me how I know this.

My mounted phone got dirty, wet and bounced around a lot

Cheap Chinese copies are just as good as the original...and I have a dedicated phone for the bike... which camera is already dead, so I don't need a vibration damper. A drop of cyano glue to fix the case to the universal Chinese mount instead of the crappy adhesive makes the setup perfectly strong. All benefits from the quad lock for a ridiculous price. The few things that would interest me in a genuine product are 1- an integrated power supply, allowing unlimited ride duration and a perfectly safe unplugged position when ridding with out the phone. 2- an integrated stylus and /or stylus holder to allow for tactile screen operation whatever gloves I am wearing.

My solution is different. I bought a second phone. Very budget friendly phone with huge battery 10000 Mah. Then put it on a bicycle rubber holder. The phone costed me 100 usd and the phone holder around 10. Very happy with the set up.

I'm using a knock-off quadlock mount for my ebike. I got the sticky mount, so i didn't have to buy a case and it works great. I can do jumps and it stays solid when i mousetrap myself from a wheelie and crash. I've begun using it for Geocaching and music and the occasional 0-45 mph acceleration test.

@@1ilrx Mine isn't that good at vibration dampening. It's secure, when i found out that i forgot to tighten the bolts. I just searched for phone mount on Aliexpress and it was one of the first thing that popped up.

I just ordered a knock off one off ebay (I'm in Australia). It was $15 delivered including a vibration dampener and universal mount. It is due next week, so I'll see how it goes. It was just called a quadlock phone mount (clearly a fake but using the quadlock name). I also ordered a cheap case for my phone (since quadlock don't do one) and I'll stick the universal mount to it and just swap my phone into it when i ride. I'll get some 3m double sided tape to replace the stuff that comes on the universal mount as i saw a video on youtube where they tested a fake quadlock versus the genuine one and the double sided tape was the only weak point of the fake.

Lots of people still claim their iPhones camera stabilizer got messed up even with the vibration dampener. My phone is way too expensive for me to risk it..

I had a quad lock and I used to have an iPhone…. On my way to work one day. Looked down and realised my phone had gone along with the top part of the mount. Thanks quad lock £500 for a new phone

I'm ashamed to admit it but I bought the $15 knockoff version from Amazon and it works just fine. All the quad lock accessories work on it too.

Buy Quadlock Universal Mount, cut out (to size) part of the rubber on the back of the phone, and apply the Universal Quadlock Mount directly to the hard plastic back of the Otterbox case. Boom, Otterbox Safety, and Quadlock Functionality, all because Quadlock only appeals to the flagship phones in terms of having a native first-party case designed for.

Anyone ever has problems with the compass while using magnetic cases? It's the only thing that buzzes to me

He just lied to me. I've got this case. It is not flat on the back and the phone is constantly rocking around on the table. I hate the case because of that but I use it because of the bike.

Mous Intralock is superior in my opinion. Not many people know of it though as it is new to the market.

I’ve been hesitant to go back to phone mounts since my old RAM phone mount did kill my old iPhones camera stabilizer. Maybe I’ll have to give this one a go

that's because you haven't tested the SP. Their cases are more convenient and the whole system is nicer. and the anti-vibration module is much better.

For navigation there are better products than a smartphone, we really need smartphones on a bike ? In my opinion there are already enough car idiots using smartphones while driving.

I bought a cheap android auto carplay unit cheaper than a quad lock system, infinite better option! And you don't need to use this boring design phone case. Also your phone will not overheat due to sun.

It's funny that an English native brand and everyone else thinks that dampener is the right word to use. Many people use it when describing suspension characteristics. It's damping, not dampening. Totally different meaning. What a fail.

Quad lock sucks imo. Plasticky junk and the case doesn’t last as all. My case is splitting on the sides and about to be broken for good. It’s a genius business model though. I get tired of twisting by locking it though.
