I was having a hard time locating old bike frames where I can chop off the head tubes for the steering of my recumbent trike that I'm building. Then I saw this video. I like the way to thought of using hubs to turn the front wheels. My problem is solved. Thanks bro. Keep it up.

If I might make a minor suggestion to save you some grinding. At 0:40 try drilling a hole and just making a cut on either side. Much faster and you don't wear down the grinding disc as much. Plus it looks neater without spending as much time cleaning the inside of the cut. Are those front wheels the same design you used previously on a project for a delta trike conversion? Made from hoverboard motors. I was always impressed by those, but the earlier one took away the ability to pedal as well. A tadpole trike (or reverse trike) gives pedalling back as an option when the battery runs out. 4:06 smart clamp design. Simple but effective It's good to see the design changes and evolution of the design as you go (e.g. the steering alteration). Gives good insight into how you overcome challenges and shows us things that do and don't work. Very much appreciated, thank you. I'd love to know how using the wheel axles hold up being used that way as opposed to using the steering tubes from bikes. Any chance of a future video showing what worked well and what needed upgrading later? Having similar traction problems with the front wheel drive on the ebike I just assembled for my mother - LOTS of wheel spin. But that's part of the fun isn't it?

your suggestion are great😮👍. for steering tube, I weld the tube in nut(5:31) and it counter by another nut, in video uphill, can't make it full throttle because both front wheel loose traction. and it not so stable in fast driving.

I also appreciate the way you added your steering design change. ''ANYONE'' who builds ''things'' always comes to those moments of realization that simply goes ''WAIT, I CAN MAKE THIS WORK BETTER IF I USE THOSE OTHER PARTS & BUILD IT THIS WAY''.

Well done for the price. Next steps: - Ackermann steering (inner wheel steers sharper) - caster (wheel pivot axis points in front of the contact patch) - build wheels as close as possible to their pivot axis - suspension

Suspension would be an added feature, but the other points should have been incorporated into the original design; it's not hard to find the relevant information.

You are the king of reusing hoverboard motors! :) I wonder if you have considered using one of these motors and creating a wind turbine to capture wind energy. I understand that electricity is very expensive there in the Philippines, and your skills are certainly enough to make something cool.

If I were to make a suggestion I would use your build and add the trike rear axel with basket for battery pack holder and perhaps adding a 2 cycle gas generator as well

dude, to optimize steering the extension of the turn axis of each wheel should point to a point just cm before the contact point of the tire. this way you avoid bump-steer and motor or brake steering influences...

Masyado syang magaan kaya nawawalan ka ng traction. Yung space sa ilalim dun siguro pwede lagyan ng battery storage. Pati likod may motor din? I think kailangan mo na gawing 60 or 100w yung battery.

my dad was trying to assemble something like this but with a custom built chassis, it would be pedal powered but with a custom shifter, it would be like one in a car but it would make the regular shifter like on the back of a mountain bike shift through 6 speeds, i might make a electric conversion for it with a high amount of torque and speed so i might go maybe 60+ mph with the 6 speed (edit: now that i think of it, it might be too fast for a 6 speed electric conversion for a 3 wheeler, and then it might be too dangerous XD)

giving the not-a-wheelchair a go for its price hahah

I have an old adult size trike I’ve wanted to convert to 2 wheels in the front but I want the front wheels to have brakes. I’m not really sure how to do that.

You'll have to buy braked front trike wheels, or at least brake hubs to put in rims. Alternative is to use whole front forks on each wheel and use rim brakes. Makes for a bulky front end.

Не практичный аппарат, только для деревни или покататься. В городе будешь в пробках стоять из за третьего колеса. 2 года езжу на работу за 9 км через 2 моста, и поверьте лучше двухколесного электровела мощностью 500ватт с двигателем в карете ничего нет😁

@@albertnario4877 gañan talaga ang mga front wheel drive. Meron kasi akong cruzbike.com Silvio 2.0 fwd nag iiskid yung harap. Tuloy mo lang yan ding project na yan with motor sa likod para maging 3-wheel drive. O kaya another project with tadpole leaning front wheel. Nasa Recumbent bike ako since 1996.
