@@christopherorta8755 the reason he didn’t was to pursue his role in Harry Potter instead. He was offered the role to be farquaad but declined for that reason.

@@sadiecordes4070 just the voice would be so ironic I think it would almost be a constant distraction unless they made Farqaud at least average in height. If you just listened to the voice it’s easy to imagine a Jarfar like figure not an absolute midget.

IMO, Lithgow's voice gave him a better character development

Snape isn't shutting the windows for his lecture. He's shutting them because there is a happy, bright, beautiful world out there and he doesn't want his class to know or even remember that it exists.

I like how some of the chorus "Hum!" were in sync with the shutters closing!

Alan Rickman was offered the role of playing Lord Farquaad, but he rejected the role so he could play Professor Snape. It works out better. John Lithgow exectued the role perfectly. He actually sounds like a medieval warlord, which Alan Rickman could never do.

In my mind this is the canon version.
