The hardest battery replacement for any vehicle owner! Just to bleed you out of money if you take it to the dealer. They have to charge to : remove , sensor, install sensor , mount tire , balace and rotate. You could check TP on cars with a simple $5 tool.

The TPMS symbol did not light up on my ‘08 Titan until after I had new tires mounted. I think the technician damaged the battery(s) when he removed old and mounted new tires. The truck was about 4 years old. I just ignore the light. How long do the batteries last on average, anyway?

TPMS just seems like the worst thing ever for a typical car owner to have to deal with. Hardly anyone knows that each wheel has a "battery-operated" sensor in it! And replacing that battery...OMG. Now you have to pay the dealership to replace all the batteries and I'm sure that's not cheap. What ever happened pre-TPMS to where you simply walk around your car and look to see if they look a bit low and just put some air in them, then check the pressure? Common sense, I've done it for 50+ years, for cryin out loud.

I bought a brand new Mitsubishi and purchased winter tires from them with pressure sensors. My friend is a licensed mechanic and changed my tires in the fall. I assumed that by buying THEIR tires with the sensors, I would not have a problem. After he finished, I had the error message and the symbol on my dash display. I went to their service dept and was told it's a $25 charge for them to turn off the error, or I can pay $55 for them to change my tires and the error is taken care of. I'm pretty disappointed that after purchasing a new vehicle from them that they are going to nickle and dime me over every little thing. I found a video on KZread on how to get rid of the error in the settings. I don't have access to get far enough in to turn it off. I asked the service dept to give me more access and they refused. So, I have this error, pissing me off, every time I drive the vehicle. The vehicle itself is beautiful, and a pleasure to drive, but make no mistake, I will NEVER buy another Mitsubishi! It's good service that sells the next vehicle. The service dept staff are wonderful, it's not their fault that they have rules to follow and I'm sure they have to deal with many irate customers because of it. I guess they are not interested in repeat business.

@@litalitvinaite891 Obviously service is not a priority anymore. It's unfortunate that a person's driving experience is ruined by an error that is unavoidable to look at because it's right in your face and they would rather let you fume over the error than to take it away. Clearly repeat business is not their priority, but that will not work out very well for them. Not only will I never buy another Mitsubishi, I have a big mouth and I've been yapping about it to anyone who will listen. I have co-workers who could be approved in an hour for a car purchase, and they all know what happened to me. Word of mouth can be golden, or can be your worse enemy. To me, the first rule of retail should be to NOT piss off your customers!

I had a problem with the batteries a few years ago. My batteries kept running down I didn't know why. I'm retired so I don't drive the truck that often and I had a slow leak in a couple of the tires. Every time I tried to start the truck after 4 or 5 days it wouldn't start. All along I thought it was the battery it wasn't. It was TPMS creating an open circuit and drained the battery after about 5 days or so. I took my truck to a local tire shop and had them Dismount the tires clean the rims and install new valve stems problem solved I hate those damn TPMS and wanted to disable it. I can check my tires when I feel the need or they look low. Don't need dead batteries all the time because of a TPMS creating an open circuit in my electrical system.

How much does that add to the price when sold And does that not cause wear and tear to the battery or the starter And back too the TPMS after paying for new tires now you must either install the old sensors or pay for new ones which adds to the cost of replacing your tires .Hell people have been driving for 100 years without this crap. Does anyone know if having this light on, does it fail your inspection for the car to get the sticker?

I thought that there was a way to turn off TPMS. I thought I did it last winter. I'm just trying to remember how to do it again for this winter. My winter wheels don't have TPMS just my summer wheels

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage actually I think it automatically went away... At least the yellow warning light. It does start the dash display on the tire reading page after starting the car, but one click and that goes away and at least now I don't have the yellow warning icon. 2014 Ram 1500

When idiots removed full spare tire, those tpms started to get important because if your tire gets F-ed, you are stranded (cant continue travel). If you have regular valves, and full spare tire, you would be able to travel to first service, but that dont generate money, so industry keeps F-ing customers over.

No, just break the bead on one side. Replace the TPMS with a new one, calibrate to the computer, and your good for ten years.
