GM Tire Pressure Monitor Relearn Process TPMS - NO SPECIAL TOOLS NEEDED!!!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Did you just rotate your tires? Have to replace a TPMS sensor? Have to replace a rim? Well check out this video on how to reset that TPMS light and follow the relearn procedure for ANY GM vehicle equipped with the tire pressure monitoring system. Chevy, Buick, Cadillac, GMC, Pontiac, and Oldsmobile. There are NO SPECIAL TOOLS REQUIRED!!! That's right! You can do this yourself, in your own driveway or garage in just minutes. Instead of staring at that pesky tire pressure light, watch the video and get that light to go out.

What happens if you do not have the correct tire pressure when you reset the TPMS? Especially when you are letting air out to get the horn to honk during the reset (one tire at a time). Will it now not alert you when the tire is low or indicate the wrong pressure because the wrong tire pressure was in the tire when the TPMS was reset?

  • @JrZCarZ

They shouldn't need to be all full. What you can try is to drive the car around a little before doing this so the sensors are active and see if it works.

  • @JrZCarZ

I believe the process would be different because the Terrain doesn't have the menu option like this Torrent does. If you can select the option to learn the tire location you can try, just make sure that you have a compressor handy so you can pump the tire back up! Happy motoring.👍

Bought used 2008, DIC said to work on TPMS, used Autel scan tool, it did not see sensors in the car so tossed in 4 sensors, the tool could see all 4, saw pressure. So went into relearn, tried to use his Autel tool and my tool, neither would beep during the learn process.. guess could try lowering pressure, but wondering why scan tools would not trigger the learn.. there some antenna for the ECM to see these sensors?

Looking into module 20803735 to find out if there is an antenna, keyless entry module controls the TPMS on these, then remote start and the keyless entry.. from what I can make out it is behind some panel on Left rear quarter, guess behind where jack goes perhaps, looking tomorrow to verify numbers and check any antennas, as both tires then fob acting up...

It shouldn't make a difference because it's just looking for activity when you let the air out. It's not calibrating the actual pressure to make sure it's reading properly, it's reading the location of where the tire/sensor is. That being said, before doing this you should make sure they are at the proper pressure just to be safe.
