The driver is Rens close friend and videographer Sam. This was apparently the first thing he recorded after splitting with his management. They took 2 mobile phones and did this little piece of magic . Ren produces all his music 🎵🎶🍯🤌🙏

Ren learned licks (how to play guitar) by watching videos of people playing, like John Frusciante (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Jimi Hendrix. It's a bonus that he's self-taught - he doesn't follow the "rules" because he never learned them. He just plays what's right for him. Love this during my commute, so I'm feeling good when I get there (Also have "Ocean," "Humble," and "What You Want" on there.) I believe Ren created this song/video just after his Sony deal fell through. Ren usually produces his own beats (except his "retakes," which are all new lyrics on someone else's track). "Through the walls I heard love dying" is one hella poetic way of saying his parents fought and split up. Favorite line in this song.

Ren was saying that he is going all out for his Money Game 3 video, his biggest budget ever. First time he will have spent over £1000 on a video. Big budget he isn't.

The story behind this video is that Ren grabbed his videographer, Samuel Perry-Falvey, and told him, "Hey, we're gonna grab our phones, mount them in the car, and drive around to do the video for Power." And here we are. ❤‍🔥

I think the takeaway is that Ren definitely found his power and we are lucky he is sharing it with us. Also just impressive how he manages to keep this positivity with everything he has been and is still going through. Of course he has bad days, but still. To be able to flip it like this is very powerful. Thank fuck Ren found music as an outlet and companion in life. We need this man. Relatable, down to earth, judgement free cause we’re “all misguided individuals”, and an inspirational shining light for those of us feeling stuck in the darkness.

What style? Pause, repeat the last thing Ren said, verbatim, rewind, press play, talk over the next bit, missing what's said, rewind, play, pause, repeat what Ren just said, verbatim, play... and so on, to the end of the track. I mean, I suppose you may find pausing every line and just repeating it, to be stylish and you could say that it's A style but it seems pretty pointless and monotonous to me... If you're going to pause a lot, you need to add something when you do so. Analysis, critique, how it's making you feel. Anything rather than merely repeating the lyrics after dvery line. It's not like the lyrics are difficult to understand, or unavailable. If you're not going to add anything, pause less and let it flow a bit. A couple of positives though. He doesn't say 'okay', in that questioning, patronising manner, after every other line, like too many reactors do. Nor does he do that clichéd 'goosebumps' thing that 90% of reactors do nowadays He also seems like a nice guy, which is the biggest positive of the lot. I just wish he'd add something worthwhile, to justify the frequent pausing or, if not, pause a lot less.

John Frusciante- I see people have already commented explaining he was chilli peppers guitarist, but he’s also a musical genius… He has his own career away from the RHCP- his album PBX Funicula Intaglia Zone is particularly experimental and genre bending. He also produced the beats for The Black Knights - rap group formed by members of the Wutang Clan. He also produced acid house dance albums under the alias Trickfinger…. He was my favourite musician ever til I found Ren 😂

My favourite reaction of yours so far. Great breakdown and understanding of where Ren finds his music. In his soul. One thing, Ren couldn’t eat the food in Genesis. His diet is severely restricted, consisting of plain meats and a few vegetables. He has allergic reactions to most other foods. I hope Sam got to enjoy the take away! Anyway, thanks again.

Ren started doing music at around 12. His parents regularly took him and his sister to hippy music festivals and he had a small, beat up guitar at all times. The “lines” reference is cocaine. At the beginning of the spoken word section of “Hi Ren” he. says “When I was 17 years old, I shouted out into a blank canvas that I would defeat the forces of evil” which refers to the pre Lyme disease onset period when he was an angry young man and using drugs and booze. He addresses that time in this song too in the verse you highlighted where he says he was a “pleb.” In “Losing It” he says “You say I’m a dick when I get out of hand.” Obviously this phase was meaningful to him-also because it was when his friend Joe committed suicide.

This was his first song that he did when he went independent, He said this song is very important to him, I think Chinchilla and Him was on the same record label and both left and went on their own close the same time Sam started filming Ren and his talent friends very early and Sam and Ren does most of their videos … Josh and Luke also shoot video for him... Ren has a close-knit team that works with him, and he has some very talented friends too ,,,,
