The sunstar die cast delorean had a very similar mechanism for the hover wheels.

I own this version did you know if you hold down the light/sound button you get the sound effect of the car speeding up and the time travel effects (complete with sonic boom) then there is a short pause then you get 3 sonic booms (with 3 flashes of the blue coils) ;)?

I am getting that toy Delorean tomorrow

The HotWheels and Sunstar 1:18 models also had the hover mode wheels

I had a smaller model that I got at universal studios and it had the wheels feature. So long ago now.

Notice the lack of any DeLorean markings. Apparently the manufacturer licensed this car from Universal Studios, but for whatever reason, did not get a license from DeLorean Motor Company to use their logos. I got this model as a gift, added the DeLorean emblem on the grille and logo on the rear bumper, as well as detailing the headlights to reflect the quad units on a real DeLorean. Adding the DMC logo to the wheels will probably be the hardest part, since these will need to be extremely small.

What did u use to add the logos

does it roll well?? do the wheels light up? i also had a revel plastic model that had the hover switch featcure.

real retro 87 I must warn you The Deloreans with the hover mode feature are not meant to sit on its Wheels when they're in their down position if you push down on the car while the wheels flap down the hooks that allow the wheels to fold back into their normal position actually snapped off and I've had to do this before and you would have to take the base of the car apart to reattach those hooks and also the whole assembly that holds the wheel flap section will also lift off the base as well

I have this too, also did a video of it a few months ago. Its actually 1/15 scale and not 1/18 though.

sunstar 1/18 scale actualy has folding wheels amd is made out of metal a magnet was atracting to it which could imply it is actualy made out of stainless although i cant confirm that

@@RETRONuts this is definitely not a re-branded SunStar considering this is a plastic 1:15 scale and the SunStar is a diecast 1:18

My button seems to be jammed for adjusting the wheels back and forth to hover mode. Anyone else had this problem? I'm afraid to push it too hard!

***** Thanks for the reply buddy. Been weighing for a year.....every few weeks, I claim this is the week I get one, this is the week, well THIS is officially the week I get one. I keep seeing the scales are different. Mark 1 is 1/18 scale? and Mark 2 and 3 are 1/15th? Is that true?

They're all 1/15 scale, at least the three that I've reviewed. I had originally put 1/18th because that's what the Amazon.com description stated, but it was wrong so I had to adjust that in my review titles. So all three of the Diamond Select Deloreans are 1/15th scale.

I managed to pick one up today for only £4 as it wouldn't change into hover mode. After a quick dismantle it's now working again... but what a cheap poorly assembled model they are inside. Trapped wires, hot glue everywhere and terrible soldeing.

Gift me this car please. 🙏🙏🙏
