I did actually daily mine for years. Even delivered pizza with it for a couple years. Sheer torture on any vehicle...but the DMC did fine. Still own it. Still have more fun in my DMC than my Audi S5. The DMC's reputation is 95% myth, 5% fact. Just something you have to live with if you own one.

Holy crap! I think I hurt my head facepalming that hard when I heard her say that. How many times did Marty say “son of a bitch!” Yep! Disney. Forget the universal logo, just going to Universal studios, they still have the delorean there, even though the ride is long gone. But hey, Stephen Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis... ...they worked together on Roger Rabbit, right? That’s sort of Disney. ...Touchstone. Universal also released American Tail, another great film people constantly claim is Disney. ...at least that was a family friendly animated classic.

Shroomie true, but back to my Roger Rabbit comment, they could’ve just released it as a Touchstone film. Early 80s though, Disney was basically on the brink of bankruptcy, and was nearly bought up by other companies, so I think they were just stuck in there “what would Walt do?” phase and didn’t want to try anything new. But they released Roger Rabbit AND Nightmare Before Christmas under the Touchstone label because they did not want parents thinking it was rated G child friendly. Roger Rabbit has A LOT of adult situations, and Nightmare Before Christmas, that wanted to market it has something more scary, that adults and teens would love.

@@UmmYeahOk very true. They could have released it on touchstone and missed a chance at having a huge hit but who knows if it would have ended up as the same movie. For example would disney have allowed them to recast the role of marty after filming for weeks with eric stoltz and let them reshoot with micheal j fox. Would they have studio note the movie to death. It could have ended up as a very different movie plus alot of the movies charm for me was using the universal back lot as hill valley. The clock tower and such were kind of iconic and make me instantly think of BTTF when i see that movie set, along with gremlins.

There used to be someone in my neighbourhood that owned a DeLorean (unmodified version). The car just looked absolutely stunning, even in its original (stock) form.

I kinda wish Doug still did (or would do more) interviews of the car's owner. I understand they normally aren't likely to have as interesting of stories as this guy does, but Doug's reactions are so genuine and enjoyable.

i think they care more about "will shit fall off" then anything else. i don't know of an insurance policy that would faint if you mod the engine... roadside assistance might be an issue though. but anyway.

But they have gull-wing doors... And a 100hp engine on a somewhat mediocre transmission in a heavy vehicle. My little putt-putt car with 88 hp puts roughly the power to weight ratio on the ground and my transmission could let me out drag race a stock Delorean but it would have a higher top speed due to my speed limiter at 92.

Id love a delorean, but just out of my price range. lol

This video is the most exciting thing I've seen all week.

Funny that this video was brought up. Just two days ago, my (much younger) coworker and I were discussing the movie (and the DeLorean). He was wondering why they picked 88mph for the movie, and I told him that many cars in the 80's (including that PRV V6 DeLorean) could barely get up to 88mph in a reasonable amount of time/space.

That is literally one of the most iconic cars ever made, and 99% of people will recognize it without any doubt! I've seen it a few times at ComicCons, not to mention K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider, the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, the Chevy Impala from Supernatural, the Jurassic Park Jeep, the General Lee from Dukes of Hazard, cars for the Fast and Furious franchise, the classic Batmobile and the '89 Batmobile... you name it! Totally cool!

Loved the movies and the car. Brings back so many childhood memories.

The most beloved prop from one of the most beloved movies of all time. (Has anybody ever heard any person utter the words, "I didn't like 'Back to the Future?'")

mostly kids born after the '90s anyway, I thing the design of the car, the music, the pop culture elements have aged a lot better than the actual stories of the movies. I still think the sequels are more interesting than the original (mostly a '50s nostalgia flick, hell even pre-R&R '50s!)

Not to be a "that guy" but if you're gonna drive around with the hover board in the seat, you also need the Mr. Fusion mod installed if you want to be completely accurate.

Blaine Warner True. He did say that it was the version that first rolled out of Docs trailer, but yeah, that one wouldn't have the hover board.

Thetechgenius it is. He can swap between 2015 and 1985 A versions. The hover board is always with the car because people like holding it for photos.

The part 3, version jacked up on the frame with white wall tires, has a wild charm to it.

Question is how many times will Doug say... "Quirks and little features " 😅😂 Side note, not to nit pick or anything but he said this was the first movie, roll out the trailer first time we see it version but yet there's a hoverboard from BTTF:2 lol just had to say it lol the guy did one hell of a job making it so movie accurate, took alot of time and dedication to not only make this movie accurate as far as looks but even the sounds are just spot on its incredible..I remember being a kid and this was my first real movie car crush hahah when people had pictures of Lamborghini Countach's on their wall, there I was right next to the smaller Countach poster a big movie poster of BTTF DeLorean and man I thought they looked sooooo fast I thought woah that thing would smoke a Lamborghini..man was my heartbroken when a friend of the family had a DeLorean and I got a ride and finally realized how heavy, clunky, and just underpowered they truly were. Standing still they look like they could do 150+ ..starts moving and you realize man Marty musta had a hell of a time getting this tank up to 88mph😂😂 Marty Mcfly you sir are a true legend!
