Turks Give Me Unlimited Free Food When I Speak Turkish

Ойын-сауық

Check out yourteacher.ai/ to practice any language! My Turkish friend Efkan invited me out to Turkey to hang out and get some, err, self-care, but he also wanted to test my Turkish out on the locals. Would I crash and burn, or actually impress them? In addition to learning with Efkan it was also great to be able to practice with the language learning tool I co-created called Teacher AI before coming so I would have a bit of preparation in different scenarios. Make sure to go to yourteacher.ai/ if you want to get unlimited speaking practice without the awkwardness of human interaction in one of 25 different languages including Turkish! And also check out Efkan's Italki profile to learn some Turkish: www.italki.com/en/teacher/755...

Also I am sure that your Turkish content will get a LOT of views if you spend more time in the streets & try out some food. We as Turkish people are really enthusiastic when it comes to seeing foreigners explore the country, which is just like having your friend watch your favorite movie and seeing their reaction! 😁I'd love to show you around in Istanbul!!

As a Turkish person I think this is one of the cultural differences we have with the west. In Turkiye, if you try to speak Turkish no matter how poor your Turkish is, people will find it sympathetic and will try to help you. But for instance in France, if your french is poor, people dont like to hear it and they are like they want you to stop trying and continue in english.

When you delve deeply into Turkish history, it is insane how many iconic figures and historical events happened in that area. Fascinating country. Roasted Chestnuts are an autumn/winter dish here in the UK, or it was until people stopped learning how to do it. I have a few spots where I get thousands and store them for the kids.

The Chestnut is one of the few universal foods. DNA evidence suggests they possibly originated somewhere in Asia (we don't really know where precisely) about 56 million years ago, and have spread to pretty much every continent except for Oceania long before humans. So pretty much people have been roasting and eating chestnuts way before we have archaeological records for. There are small variations between American, European, and Chinese varieties, but they mostly all taste very similar. Plus you can get them in most grocery stores (both raw in shell, and precooked in cans & snack pouches)

the chestnuts in Turkiye are known as Italian chestnuts in the U.S. Kind of smaller in size and tastier compared to the Asian / Chinese ones, which are bigger and has literally a bland taste.
