Any Turkic language speaker will be able to learn Korean faster, than just a monolingual English speaker. Turkic languages has practically the same grammar structure as Korean and Japanese.

@@mattd3628 Turkey has a long history with Korea so I wouldn't be surprised if they have similar grammar structures. their relationship goes way back to a thousand years ago. most Koreans considered Turkey as their brother nation.

As a Turk I can relate with Ceren getting yourself immersed in the foreign culture that you're interested in can go a little too far lol. I'm 19 years old and since like 2017 I've been putting so much effort on being better at English and understanding the culture and lifestyle of countries that predominantly speak English, that my Turkish has started to fall apart a little. For a good while I didn't always know how to react in some social scenarios where, I'm talking to an elderly person for example, a taxi driver, people that are around my age, etc. It was especially apparent that I'd alienated myself a little bit from the way the youngsters speak. Then I got back to the Turkish way of handling things and Turkish memes a little bit again and the pieces were joined together again (not to say I'm completely recovered, there's still a lot to be done for myself on that front and I would like to next get back to reading some more books in my native language again).

Lemme say, I agree with you, As I am also Turkish, still being in the 7th grade, I have troubles speaking Turkish and understand memes at times, I sometimes say english words instead of Turkish and even think english in my head, Man I wish when I am older I gotta go to another country

Hahaha Dae Jang Geum was also the drama that introduced me to Korea and I think it's the same for most turks. I used to watch it when I was a kid and really loved it. This is one of the best historical drama with Jumong.

ㅋㅋㅋ Korea language is very difficult. Based on English speakers, Korea language is the most difficult language to learn. But Korea language has a slightly strange characteristic. Korea people can understand even if the grammar and word order of Korea language used by foreigners are mixed. In other words, even if you don't know the exact rules, Korea people can almost understand what you're trying to say. So have courage and challenge yourself. Even if you memorize and list only Korean words, you can communicate with Korea people to some extent. ㅋㅋㅋ

2021년 10월쯤? 식당앞에서 나는 포장기다리고, 대학생 3명은 음식 먹고가기 전에 기다린다고 서 있는데, 담배피면서 침을 뱉고 있어서(정말 담배 한대 빨고 뱉고,한대 빨고 뱉고, 세명이 전부) 내가 인상쓰고 있다가, 포장 다 됐나 보려고 들어가는데 또 뱉길래, 침은 그만 좀 뱉어라고 했음(아마 좋게 말이 나가진 않은 듯) 거기서 실갱이가 있었는데, 얘들의 논리는 니가 뭐냐?, 길거리에 뱉는 게 뭐가 잘못이냐?, 니 땅이 아니잖아? 반전은 이건 그냥 객기로 대드는 게 아니고, 진짜 모르는 눈치였음. 이게 우리나라 수준인가 싶기도 하고, 내가 잘했구나 생각했음. 얘들은 평생 누구로 부터도 길거리에 침뱉으면 안된다는 걸 들은 적이 없는 것 같았으니까. 아마 나중에라도 잘못된 행동인가 아닌가를 자기들끼리 최소한 얘기하지 않았을까.. 라는 마음으로 위안받고 있음
