My son and I just started hunting two years ago. We hunted our first turkey season this spring in TN. My son shot his first on opening day of youth hunt. I have called one bird in since then and missed it. I am absolutely in love with turkey hunting. It does not even matter if I get one this year. Just being in the woods with my son and learning how to hunt together and manage the private land we hunt is amazing. I hope I started a long tradition of hunters in my family.
I've been an antler dragging Boone and Crockett public land whitetails nightmare sob for 25 years just picked up turkey hunting about 5 years ago. Boy am I hooked. slammed a tom past 3 years. This year has been epic just no bird. Season goes out sunday
Enjoyed...now more pod cast plz
That’s good Waddell. I at first really didn’t understand your short videos and regular videos and never seen these peoples on your vids. But I’m glad you made this video. I get it now. Hey I understand getting others involved in Turkey hunting. It’s something I love. Love it so much I’ve killed my world slam. Good on you for introducing new people to the Turkey hunting world Waddell. Good stuff.
Really enjoy your videos over your career. I've been watching you since your days with the Realtree crew and Realtree Road Trips. Actually met you in Clarksville, TN back in 2012 or 2013 I believe. I was just at my National Guard drill this past weekend and one of my fellow guardsmen wants to learn how to turkey hunt and since we don't live close by, I told him to watch your videos on turkey hunting.
They are still flopping in Cheesehead country with 3 weeks left in our season and plenty of tags available. The Waddell fans in WI would love to see you add one more 2023 “can’t stop the flop” hunt in our beautiful State! Please.
Tagged out in NY this year for the first time in 15 years! Was a great 6 tough days of hunting
What a season Waddy!! You inspire many of us!!
One of the best seasons ever for me. I took a young man that has no one to show him how to hunt or take him. Opening day we doubled up in Ky. With four days left of the season we doubled up again. The young man got biggest bird 11” beard 1 1/4” spurs. Was such a cool season. I took his last turkey made wing bone yelper call for him. #cantstoptheflop
Yes sir its been a Great year. I'm about 30 miles north of Nashville. I killed my first Turkey in 1976, at land between the lakes and it's been down hill ever since. I've been watching you, and enjoying what you bring to hunting all over the country.
Love your content Michael! I had a great 23 season in Ohio. We’re down to a one bird season the past two years, but I’m ok with that, due to declining turkey populations. I tagged out on opening day, but then called in birds for a good friend, my nephew and great nephew. It was both my nephew’s and great nephew’s first turkey, both of which were long beards.Looking forward to the 24 season. God bless and take care.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing. Started turkey hunting last year with Hurley and Jake at LMO. This year was able to get on some private and tagged out in KY and few close calls in VA trying to get a buddy his first one.
Always an entertaining guy, Mr .Waddell !!
Enjoyed the recap, keep the videos coming !!!
im glad you are having a great season man. Its awesome to listen and get these swamp chickens to come up to you. It was cool as hell coming up to the Dixie Deer Classic 2023 and meeting you. You are an awesome guy. I took that (cant stop the flop hat) that you signed, out this season and flopped a nice long beard. Keep what you are doing Mr. Waddell you are awesome.
Get it son! They seem to be picking up for a hot end of season
11:08 Michael, you're exactly right, that's one thing about turkey hunting that can't be taught..."the fine line" you have to learn it on your own over time!

Don't tell everybody LMAO
I didn't get to go but it's great you had an awesome season.👍
interesting point about decoys and a subordinate gobbler. I never thought of that as a reason. most often I don't have them running away when they see a decoy. For me it seemed like the decoy held them in a strut zone too far away until they lost interest. My thought process was the gobbler is strutting away thinking, hey lady(decoy). I can see you and I know you can see me I am working my butt off out here... if you don't come to me, I assume you aren't interested. so, I quit using a decoy so he comes in closer, still trying to spot the hen.(western pa)
I have only got out for 3 hours so far in pa. Hope to get back out soon. But thanks for all the information.
sounds like y'all had a great year congrats to all of y'all awesome ocelot I never knew they existed my season was awesome I finally killed my first wild turkey and cool thing was it was my first time hunting with a mouth call what shocked me I only been mouth calling for little over a month and just the way it all happened I have to give thanks to God for that turkey it was so awesome and last day of the season me and my dad went and he got to kill a turkey so it was a great turkey season full of firsts and I looked forward to next season
The woods here was chewed up with one legged turkeys a couple weeks ago.
Lets go
That Waddell has a sweet beard
Be careful you might call up one of those one legged turkey .😂 LoL.
I live in north east Arkansas and we set a record for the past several years theirs only been 7,000 birds harvested but this year we had 9,100 tagged in so maybe we’re having a come back and we get 21 days to hunt
Where’s your bow?!! ❤
I was told u come to maine this year again
I got my very first turkey this year. Indiana bird down. Do you ever turkey hunt Indiana?
When are we going to see the review and patterning of these new BC shotguns.

I'd be careful with that thing. I bought one this spring, shot tss thru it less then 10 times and now the choke is so tight I can't get it out. I greases it when i put it in and now it screws out till the threads ended, so I know it's not rusted like normal stuck chokes. I've been trying to get ahold of customer service for several months now and no response. I want to support Michael and the guys since I'm a Georgia boy myself, but this hasn't been a great look. Hopefully they'll see this and reach out and make it right.
Trophy room revel?
Michael, do you know who Lee Rudy is?
How do those Mexican turkeys fair on the table ? Taste like regular turkey?

It was so good! We made tacos
Let me know when you get back to the house so we can go and grab lunch or dinner
Not really a turkey 👍
Please don't push TN. We do not need any help with our turkey flock.
As you said, you sure do make the rounds around this great country, Michael, but unfortunately no one ever comes to MAINE.😢🥺 I know we're a far piece out of the way but our spring turkey season starts the first week in May and runs thru the first week of June....and we have some nice birds here, brother! I've been killin' turkeys going on 30 years here and got my share of 20 lbrs. You're allowed (2) bearded birds in the spring and (5) birds in the fall, any age and any sex. I've got 30 acres on my homestead and the wife's a great cook. We would love to host you and your crew any dang time, dude. Keep this old REDNECK Preacher in mind if you ever decide to swing up this way and I mean that!🦃💥🤠
