Turbulent Jet Ignition
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Turbulent Jet Ignition technology seems to be the choice in Formula One but generally it also offers superior performance in certain area in the combustion process but some of the answers out there are lacking like how do they manage to get away with running very high compression ratios which happens to be key to Formula One engine development as well

High swirl on intake pulls the jets outward along with the pressure in the prechamber which is what enables super rapid burn.
i wonder how a pre combustion chamber arrangement would work on a wankel engine. maybe it could be arranged in such a way as to offset the basic flaw of the wankel engine that is it's excessive combustion chamber surface area.

cleaning or discharging the pre-chamber off burst gasses might be an issue if t.j.i. is mounted in the middle of the combustion chamber but if it is in an advanced position and has some of the low pressure intake process to remove those burnt gasses then t.j.i. would certainly benefit the rotary engine however maybe a blown pre-chamber could work
I enjoyed your video. Thanks
i read the main benefit was the ability to run overall leaner because the tji assists flame propagation, i don't see why compression ratio would be different to standard SI

this video was done on the basis that there isnt much information on how all these experiments and also race engines that use turbulent jet ignition can run such high compression. as for information on its ignition coverage, few are out there already hence why, as you said, it could run very lean. the system works better on load and vice versa as well hence maserati's complicated combustion chamber set up

You're able to run a higher compression ratio because of how little time the combustion event takes to happen. The higher compression ratio would also change the lean flammability limit characteristics. The benefit of the higher compression ratio is also because of the improved expansion ratio.
Thank yuo.....
I have a very remedial question. There are industrial passive Pre-Chamber spark plugs for generators using natural gas for fuel that look very similar & have jet nozzles....... I'm sure if that plug design would work as a convention spark plug replacement upgrade, it would be made available for the mass market. Why does it not work? Are the holes too small for the gas charge to compress into the plug or other factors?????

main problem would be fuel and air mixture reaching the spark. i would quess.
Gearheads scrambling with the idea of "a spark is a spark".
HI! Can we get a link to the paper that you used for the Video?

used several but they have been in the pc for some time so im not sure where the sources were. ive got six research papers and some sources from youtube on tji. you can try honda's research site but i dont remember the link, try a search
so cool, pun intended
Have you ever heard of solubilized oxygen and dissolved air in the gasoline?
Basically CVCC with steroids.
