+08650rRider some believe or not don't have it. it comes from the anti corrosion spray they put on the doors and such and when it melts it smells like crayons because well its wax. i got rid of all that on mine when i painted it and no more wax smell now it just smells like leather.

Love these little 2liter beaters the ABA is so underrated in its ability to handle boost. Me, being foolish, I went the route of punching that bitch out to 2.3 and swapping a 16v head on it for a torquey little NA Grenade. VW's have a special place in my heart.

I drive a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta MK4 in Blue Lagoon with a 2.0 liter engine too! Great to see someone actually turbo a 2.0 liter and enjoy it. Great looking car.

I picked up a salvage 1.8t awp jetta will be swapping tran and motor into my 2.0 golf.. i know i know i can buy a 1.8t gti but i dont want to... however the 2.0 and auto tran will go into tje jetta to sell and pay for the tore achilles i got getting the jetta of the trailer..

The 2.0 8v is an alternative 1.8T. Both of the engines are similar. They can use the same parts. Just like any MK4 02j transmission can work with any 4 cylinder golf/Jetta/Beatle. That manifold allows you to bolt a K03/04 turbo from a 1.8T GTI/JETTA/BEATLE. It's basically a cheaper solution for Moding up the 2.0 8v

+GODOFBEATS So you bought it not even knowing what engine was in it? It's a 1.8 20 valve turbo. No MK4 came with a 2.0 turbo. The 2.0 was an 8v single cam that VW recycled from the MK3. Wow...

I have no braking problems in my GLI!

FYI for future videos about torque steer, it's caused by soft stock suspension bushings. Soft suspension bushings allow subtle changes in front toe. When you run harder or solid bushings you can eliminate toe changes on acceleration, but you're also introducing a lot more vibration into the suspension which can cause a lot of problems if other parts aren't strengthened as well.

I just bought an 02 jetta, and it is a fun little car. 2.0 8v sohc with the 5 speed. The engine is a little weak compared to my previous cars at low rpm, but I find it has lots of pep past 3500. And watching this video gave me an incentive to do some work to the engine. For one thing, since it's an 8v and sohc, it makes working on it alot easier, and it has alot more potential for valve work and cams. That and less rotational friction makes a more reliable engine. Lastly, who makes a head spacer for these engines?

Not worth it, you can get new lenses that just clip on to the original headlights for less than the cost of the buffing products, and they make your headlights look brand new

+Brisk Moddz the unreliable myth comes from the fact that some motors were lacking adequate piston rings. I've had one. it's an easy and cheap fix. the 2.0 is just slow compared to its brothers.

I want to know what turbo set up he has to get 240hp. For my mk6 Can't find shit for it, most stuff is saying it will give around 50hp.

Awesome, glad to hear more confirmation of the often present engine warning light. Seems to be on most of the time in my '06 Jetta TSI (stock standard 2.0 turbo, 200hp, 280nm torque). I reckon the mk 4 model (I guess that's what that is, based on the mk 4 golf, anyway) looks more badass souped up than my 06 version. Very cool!

Kenshin Himura Planet reality. VW's are plaqued with electrical issues. I've never seen a VW that didn't have issues where only one brake light worked or none at all and just yesterday I saw a new VW Jetta broken down on the side of the road with the hood up.

Little correction on the tire setup, actually a lot of the OEM wheels like longbeaches and montecarlos are a 225/45/17 size tire, generally the nicer volkswagen rims work with 225 tires, generally the 2.slow comes with 195s but you can fit 225 and probably a bit bigger without rubbing

ThatDudeinBlue couple of things, first off I love your videos man! Next, you should check out a 03-04 Jetta 1.8t that's flashed. They have the 180hp engine instead of 150hp and such a small turbo that they become torque beasts when you turn up the boost, and 1.8t's have bigger brakes haha. I'd offer you mine but you'd have to come to MN =P keep up the awesome work!
