I don't think I've ever seen an authentic traveller as you who don't go to touristic places but rather immerse themselves like the locals. My trip to Morocco was very similar, didn't check Marrakech and all the touristic hotspots but chose to explore المغرب العميق as what my Moroccan friends call it where as a Tunisian I felt like I jumped back to a century ago to how my ancestors lived. Great vlogs and what an inspirational woman taking on the world which I am sure will help many other women across the world to take on this patriarchal world and make it a free and safe space for everyone. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such kind comment 💕 it means a lot to me. There’s nothing like immersing yourself in a new culture and really living like locals do. I’m so glad you had an immersive experience in Morocco and I’m also glad that you skipped Marrakesh. That city is insane and I don’t understand why it’s appealing to a lot of tourists 😂

Fennel roots are used to cook couscous, they would usually put it in the steamer together with coscous and the tomatoe sauce would be cooking from underneath. The meal is called : farfoucha:فرفوشة, coscous with besbes:كسكسي بالبسباس.. Depending on the region. I would say it is pretty Yummy

@@TrekkingPals you are very welcome 😊 I would say across the country and you are in luck as it is a winter season meal, perhaps bigger chances in Sousse, Hammamet, Nabeul, Tunis, Zeghouan... (highly unlikely to find in restaurants I would presume as it is a home cooked dish but always worth a try)

Fennel roots are used for fennel couscous or كسكسي بالبسباس and you can try it all over Tunisia... For meat, it is legally abided by the government to be sold only, in legal butcher's shops around Tunisia, same as fish that is sold only in fish markets حانوت أو مرشي الحوت ....

A pretty busy market! It feels closer to a high-traffic street than I'm used to experiencing for such a large outdoor market. I like how the oranges guy was a bit playful with you having the camera out.
