Tuning vocals for YTPMV with Newtone tutorial

Ойын-сауық

Here's one way to tune vocals for YTPMV/ otoMAD.
I already showed how to use Vocalshifter in a previous vid, so you could use it in the same way. The only downside is that Vocalshifter sometimes screws up some of the notes and I've found Newtone to be more consistent.

    Hey don't have much experience with audio programs but I have 2 questions: 1. Do you always do the pitch shifting and cutting manually? With this sample it seems rather straightforward but I imagine it would take ages for long and fast songs. For example the "redZ" Chika video you made. I don't get how you did the first "speaking" part of that vid. And same for the visuals, how would one even sync that up properly? I remember back in the day when I pitch shifted the clips directly in sony vegas, but as soon as the song was fast it became too hard and time-consuming. 2. Can't you just make a sound from a clip into a custom FL instrument then find a midi of the song and replace the instrument with your custom sounds? So you get the timing and pitches correct.. I have a horrible ear for pitch matching voices to music, I always end up putting the wrong pitch somewhere, hearing something is off but not being able to figure out where the error is :(

    is there any reason _not_ to do the pitch shifting in newtone instead of reaper? (other than it being a pain to edit after exporting)

  • @MikamiIsAJerk

    @MikamiIsAJerk

    5 жыл бұрын

    It's easier for me to do it in reaper. Also, by doing it in Newtone, you are committing to its monophonic pitch shift algorithm, whereas in reaper you can experiment with regular pitch shift. Sometimes it fits better than monophonic.

    @@MikamiIsAJerk well i can agree on the third one and indeed it is quite precise to pitch shift it. In fact i once replaced made a high quality we are number one rip using pitch shift. Nice little project :) But anyway my advice could've been looking up a piano tutorial on YT on another device like a phone or smth, and just recreating it. Newtone allows me to do that sort of stuff within 2 minutes. Great work whatsoever!
