Great review. I have the GIAC tune on my 991.2 C2S. They claim ~80hp increase for a total of 500hp which feels about right. Simply amazing. I live in SoCal so it was a short drive to GIAC in Irvine where they removed the ECU and tuned it. In the not too distant future they will have the tune installable via the OBD port.

I just bought my RWD 2017 911 Carrera GTS seven speed manual! Love it and I’m getting a tune, cat delete and intake in 4 days! Lava Orange is the color.

I read that the BoostAddict hybrid core's would be half the cost than the Porsche X51's and get you wayyyy more power.

I think the car would look amazing with a ducktail spoiler outback. Loving the new 991.2 Hate how the engine sounds, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not excited for a tunable base-Carrera. 911 Turbo owners had all the fun in the past.

Adding the GTS turbos would be awesome for power but would definitely make the engine feel less linear and add some more turbo lag. I think this is at the sweet spot power-wise!

I'll be getting a 2018 c4 soon. Please tell me how to buy the power map...and what it's name is. So you're telling me I can take a 370 horse up to 450. What's the cost. Also...does this void the warranted? If I take it to the dealer for regular maintenance...will they overwrite the map?

It voids the warranty. Even if you remove the flash to stock, they will know if you had a catastrophic pertaining to the engine. They might now cover it. That being said, I'm waiting till my warranty goes out.

the comment regarding the manual makes no sense to me. 997.2 GT2 RS with 600hp 6mt, 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 500hp 6mt, 991 991R 500hp 6mt, 991.2 GT3 500hp, 991.2 GTS 450hp 6mt. All of them with more power and faster reving can handle a manual. Car looks great for the most part, i'd probably be 1/2 higher and not gone with those wheels (size or style), maybe a 20" front and 21" rear like the GT cars with similar GT styling and NO lip of the rim showing. But thats just me. Porsche has done a great job with the wheels on the new GT2, GT3 and GT4, IMO.

The Cost of upgrades and car is equivalent to a GT3 991.1

First time I've heard Lil Dicky in a car review video. I'm OK with it.

Honestly a turbo kit for a mustang is like 7 grand. So 9k for two porsche GTS turbos sounds pretty reasonable.

can't be done for something like under 20k according to porsche. Too much to switch out due to center locks. Its too bad no one has made a good replica wheel yet. The GT4 are similar with the 5 lug, but the offsets are so screwy that they wont work on a 911 at all.

Moddind a hrs in the same way will get you 520-550 bhp..BUT..you will still have the gts's bigger turbos that LAG!!...this on a manual Carrerra T..perfect..p.s. Add rws rev match rear seat deleat and..never mind forgot to upgrade my wallet first😨😂

WeekEnd133 I believe that you can't really knock the "vloggers" because in the long run you have to adapt in order to make the money to do bigger and better things. It's all part of the business model on KZread if you haven't noticed. That's how you get more viewers and subscribers. People want to get to know these KZread personalities and in order to do that, vlogs are quite necessary.

Since that most likely is the case, I hope Wheelie Cool Videos continues to make videos like he does now, because it’s not only better quality, but because those of us who are real car enthusiasts like the content this way better, or at least I do. I can’t speak for others because it seems as if the car enthusiast crowd is becoming gay little kids just wanting to be involved, when they really aren’t that into the scene. Will Wheelie Cool Videos take a hit, as far as subscribers are concerned, if he continues his videos this way. Probably so, but at least he would stick true to his roots, and not become gay in becoming a vlogger.

I guess I'm too old to understand the logic here..38 yrs old btw. I have a 991.2 C2s. It's stock. Sticker was $134k. I didn't pay that, though. If I wanted to upgrade it with new turbos, tune, suspension, aero package, cage etc..I'd be at what, $155k ish? Why wouldn't I just get a lightly used GT3?

Why would you need new turbos and suspension? For $134K, it should have come with a decent suspension and aero package. Tune is all you would need ,$1800, and you would have 500 HP.

APR tune, AP brakes, and track alignment is all you need to be on par with .1 gt3

At $4500 per turbo, Porsche is almost asking you to upgrade them.

They are really not all needed. On Nick Murray's youtube channel he drove a $2k GIAC level 1 tuned 991.2 C4S w/stock sport exhaust that put out 500hp/480lb-ft. Thats 80hp/100+ lb-ft over a stock S model be it a S or C4S. I think the owner in this video just wanted all that extra goodies. Seeing Nick's channel let me know all that other stuff isn't needed to get more power out of these flat 6's. I really did want to know what a tuned base Carrera would get and now I kind of do.

I am very happy With it in stock form but just ordered the Fabspeed Center Muffler Delete cross-pipe and and comparing different ECU Tunes. Any opinions as to which to go with are welcome.

Anthony Jones lol good one I’ll give you that. Please drive the 7 speed in the normal porches and then drive the manual in a GT4. Completely different. If it was the GT4 manual I’d take that for sure because it’s amazing. The standard 7 speed is pretty meh. P.s. I’m adequate at manual, can heel toe decent but not multiple times in a row. My first half dozen cars I owned were manual. My current fun car is manual but I never said I was good at driving manual. I’m SURE you’re a professional race car driver and track day hot shoe to make such a comment, am I right?
