Fish lovers rejoice! This week's episode of Cooking at Home features Jacques Pépin's tuna steak with asparagus recipe. This is a great choice for a quick and healthy dinner for 1-2 people. We weren't fully prepared for Jacques' secret ingredient but we can't wait to try it.
What you'll need:
8 oz. tuna, salt, pepper, olive oil, asparagus, 2 green onions, 1 clove garlic, cilantro, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp spicy V8

There are many great chefs one can watch here, but NONE makes me feel better then watching Jscques Pepin prepare anything. It's equal to seeing any great artist perform!

It may seem strange, but I think not, that many people, myself included, find a peacefulness along with the learning experience, from watching and listening to Monsieur Pepin. What is more basic than food, the food we eat, how it is prepared, how much we enjoy both the preparation and eating and sharing it? With all that is going on in the world these days that is upsetting, I'm finding much joy in learning to cook (albeit slowly) thanks mostly to Monsieur Jacques.
V8 now owes Jaques 28 million dollars

He gave a shout out to Bloody Mary mix for his Gazpacho video, so add it to the list of sponors😆
The way JP uses quick and easy garnishings or sauces to elevate his dishes is so smart. Turns a meal that looks like it should take 40mins to make into a 20min meal.

I love watching Jacques cook! In so many videos Jacques plates up his wonderful dishes (often for two) on a single plate. I know that this may be an obvious question but I've always wondered how he goes about serving those dishes. Does he take the large dish to the table and then serve from there? I love learning from him and if there's any chance I'd be really grateful to know more about how he likes to serve his meals at the dinner table with family and friends!

He's a real chef who uses what's available in the kitchen. Not everyone has unlimited $$$ to make hundred dollar sauces as some of these celebrity chefs do. Think about all the families who went from Europe to the New World to realize that they couldn't get that classic ingredient anymore but learned to use a substitute.
