When you’re bored in quarantine and remember that one time you took gymnastics when you were five... aka me right now trying to do a cartwheel On the bright side, this helped me realize what I’ve been doing wrong for years (not keeping my arms straight).

シF R U I T Y side flips were the easiest for me. Idk why but I got side flips the easiest, then backflips, then front flips. Side flips are way easier if you go into it from a cartwheel btw. 😉
Can I still learn if I’m 15? I hate myself for not starting before :(

I started at 15 and I felt the same way as you, but I’m 17 now, and I’ve gotten a back handspring, round off back handspring (and multiple back handsprings out of a round off) and I got my standing back tuck and round off back tuck. You’ve got it! Start now!

Okay so I got it right away just do the backhand spring like your doing a backflip off of some thing like a table or even a tree. Your lean back tip worked so well!!!
And how do you get off the anxiety to land on your head??? Like how do you direkt the body Energy?

To get over the fear: Do your trick as much as possible, I was really scared to do backflip to backflip. Yesterday I landed it and I can now do them really easy without fear, my best is 5 right now!

Try to learn a couple of basic tricks before. If you’re trying to do backflip you can learn back handspring

It’s never too late to try I’m also 13 and I decided to join a all star team this season, many other people started when they were 16 ! So I would say try just like how I’m doing now.

WTF? When I was 13, I hated sport and didn't know absolutely anything. I learned front flip when I was 27. 13 is a perfect age to start.

would recommend doing yoga first just cuz that strength & flexibility will improve allowing it to be easier to learn more of the gymastics moves.

Don't land flat footed you must land on your toes for a good rebound I can rebound like that on the spring floor

When I first got my backhand spring my hands were turned out. So hard lol I finally straightened them up.

Front Flip, Round Off and Front flip are the only ones I can master.

I got rlly close to doing a back flip on the trampoline once but then one da yi landed Don my neck - it didn't hurt but it just dared me and now I rlly wish I kept on practicing doing it after that never give up guys

I'm very advanced in tumbling for someone like me (I've never tumbled in my life, so the fact that I started cheerleading 5 months ago and I'm more advanced than some of the girls who have been there for years is really cool.) Anyways, my next step are front and backhandsprings, handstand front rolls, front and back tucks, and roundoffs so I can get to level 2 next year (my jumps are really good, and I'm hoping we'll get to stunt soon so I can get perfect stunts)

Hey martin! I have a question for you much did you take for doing well back handspring? Because i have a friend that does artistic gymnastics and i have met him yesterday. He has told me that it takes a lot of months for doing well backhandspring and i felt so weird when i heard that😳😳... Of course you can learn anything at any age! I didn't even know how to do a bridge, now I do them with ease, just don't give up

I remember being able to do tumblings easily when i was 8-9 but now that i got older, my body just can’t do it anymore lol but when i still can do it back then, i had no problems or injuries with learning it, i actually learned to do it very quickly. I just practiced it over and over again to perfect doing it but now i just can’t do it anymore- 😭✋

Always been able to backflip and front flip it’s the back and front handspring that is hard
How flexible do you need to be for the back handspring?
I really want to learn how to get my back handspring, backflip and frontflip but I'm extremely afraid of falling and breaking some part or injuring myself
I have all the basics down perfectly all I need to learn is the round off and the harder stuff ect lol

I love Eilish gang practice hand stand snap downs it helps with your arms a lot and work on keeping your head in between your arms while doing them... hope this helps!

Tbh I would start as early as you can, you want to get as many skills as possible before tryouts
I’m 35 and have never even been able to do a cartwheel. Flips and handsprings look neat, however, I would be afraid that I would land on my head or neck or something and end up seriously injured. I would probably need a spotter for everything.

From my experience cartwheels are the basic of round offs, so learning the cartwheel first is very useful

Try to keep them closed or put a scrunchie on your ankles to keep them closed for the flip
I really want to do tumbling, I know how to do a round off and a handstand and a back walkover but I can't even do the splits, any suggestions?

Stretch everyday. Pike stretches, lunges, quad stretches and half split stretches are good for splits, I’d hold them for about a minute each at least, but usually I hold for a minute once in the morning and once at night
