Tudor BEATS Rolex with Best Watch of 2021

The Rolex Daytona is that one watch you’re probably the most sick of hearing about, but even so, its popularity is not unjustified. It is the quintessential sports chronograph, rising from the ashes to become one of the most sought-after watches of all time. It seems nothing can take the fight to Rolex and the Daytona from Omega, Breitling or any other competitor-but what about a watch costing a third of the price from its own junior brand, Tudor? This is: Tudor BEATS Rolex with Best Watch of 2021.

Being a watch person comes down to your heart. Once you love a watch, these comparisons means nothing in the long run. If you buy the alternative, eventually you’ll want the one you originally wanted. Having said that, Rolex never captured my heart. I own a Tudor and am very happy with it. I also own a Panerai cuz of how it captured my heart. Sure, we study the details and appreciate those, but the heart is what it boils down to

The date complication tipped me to buying the Tudor chrono. It’s something I use every day, and I miss it every time I wear my BB58 so it was so easy to make the choice on this one. Love the video comparison !! I made the exact same comparison before making the choice to purchase my Tudor Chrono

‘Greased eel’ - hard to get hold off. Absolutely funny! Watchfinder keep it up.

Date instead of a third dial makes the Tudor a much better wearable option than the Daytona. Besides, in my personal opinion its cleaner and overall a much better looking watch.

So...I'm going off topic but I prefer the Zenith Chronomaster Sport. The larger overlapping subdials fill the dial nicely (the Daytona has a wee bit too much empty space IMHO)

It is a good watch but too thick and bulky, tried in AD. Daytona is 2+ mm thinner, Breitling premier chrono is also 1+ mm thinner. If Tudor have 58 chrono in 39/40mm size, 13mm thick, it will be great.

To set the record straight, as someone who was involved in “wristwatch” collecting (you had to mention that back then because the majority of watch collectors collected pocket watches), the Zenith Daytona had a waiting list from the moment it was introduced. Premiums were considered absolutely a crazy thing, but they started almost from the beginning of the 16520 launch. The older 4 digit Daytonas were considered old fashioned and it wasn’t really until around 1996/97 that they started selling for more than the Zenith Daytonas. My grail back then was the white dialed Daytona. While I don’t have my earlier Daytonas any longer, my 116500LN Panda is hardly ever off my wrist.

I am glad Tudor came back to the American market. I recently (within 10 years) started to get into watches and fell into the trap of the big 4 "mainstream" US brands (Breitling, Rolex, Omega and Tag) I remember seeing the Tudor bb58 in 2016? and was in love. I like the direction the brand is going as of late and cannot wait to see what else they conjure up.

The Daytona is nothing more than Tulip mania. I actually prefer the Zenith. The Tudor is nice with the Breitling movement.

I am one of those who like the snowflake hands of Tudor, but my only problem with this watch is exactly how the snowflake hour hand obscures the sub dials when passing over them to a degree that annoys me a little bit.

I like the styling of the Tudor reverse panda best for styling and legibility. I think it would be a great watch to wear as an everyday casual.

I would totally buy the tudor if it had a ceramic bezel. I dont like watches without date and the movement on the tudor is a breitling B01 which is a supreme movement. but they do it on purpose by not giving the tudor a ceramic bezel.

Tudor watches are probably the nicest every day watch on the market. They look great and are not out of reach for enthusiasts that ACTUALLY wear their watches in every day use. I do. Hamilton's take a beating look great and you can HAVE one... Tudor is up there but so are you dude if you like it you have class and still down to earth personality. Love it!!

Ouch!! I'm going start calling you the "Rolex Killer"! First GS is better and now Tudor. If I could get my hands on a NEW Rolex for MSRP I'd probably buy it just to say I had one. In all fairness Rolex builds a great watch but so does Tudor, GS, Omega, Carl F Bucherer, ya had to throw CFB in there, and many more.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be perfectly happy with a Daytona; however, for a sport chronograph I think Zenith does it best.

I own the Tudor and it's a nice watch, it wouldn't work for someone with small wrists but it's a lovely watch none the less. I'd buy a daytona at RRP but the chance of that are zero and if I was going to spend £30k + I'd want a Patek or AP.

The Tudor is just a stunning watch! I’ve wanted a Daytona for many years… but when this was launched I got straight on the phone to my AD to get me one…. Got my Panda the first week it was launched! Yes it’s a little thicker than I’d ideally like… but I’ll live with it. The Daytona to now just too hyped… I’m not a fan of the ceramic bezel either! The Baytona has won me over, my itch for a Daytona has gone!
