What makes even less sense is that a judge is meant to follow the law. Race, religion and so on should have NOTHING to do with it. Either you understand and follow the law or you don't. While there is certainly interpretation of what laws should be applied to a given situation, again, race, religion and so on should have no influence over that.

It's an insult to our intelligence! I would have been 100% on board with them nominating a black woman. It was HOW they nominated her that I have a problem with. Instead of excluding other nominees they could have put up a disportional number of black women and (pretend to) choose her on qualifications. At least that would remove some doubt on how she got the job!
