If you ask Ustad Zakir Hussain to play a complete tabla solo for 3 hours...he will play that...if you ask him to accompany a classical instrument he will do that thing in such a way you can't imagine...if you ask him to improvise he will do that and also if you ask him to play with western classical music that is Jazz he will come out with a complete masterpiece and if you ask him to compose a song, to accompany with gazal he will do that also......So overall he is just a powerpack who has given the world a bunch of masterworks,,, so I think he deserves Nobel prize for music creation...HE IS THE ULTIMATE NAME IN WORLD MUSIC.......

@@RubinForChrist yes... I think I have never a Western classical percussionist. I think there aren't any. Western classical includes playing pieces composed by fully memorizing it and doing no improvisation .

This is one of the very few videos that I can watch any number of times. It has got something infinite in it! All the legends on this stage cannot be appreciated enough through words. Ever! But I bow down to all of them, and AR rahman sir for creating this miraculous piece of music. Also the guitarist Sanjoy das has played it magically. Specially mentioning his name here because couldn't find much comments about him. Though I repeat, All these legends can never be appreciated enough through words.
