"Chaap" (lit.mark) means the "mehraab" a mark on Muslims forehead due to prostrating (sajda) during prayers. And "Tilak" refers to the red mark Hindus use on their forehead as a religious mark. Here Kusrau was alluding to the fact that he has forgotten his identity in his Master Nizam-ud-Din Auliya. It's a poetic symbolism and exaggeration to show his level of devotion, not that he was not a devoted Muslim. Complete devotion is a recurrent theme in Sufi "Tariqat", in all 12 houses of tariqat, especially the four great sufi houses of Sub-continent..

5:50 I adore this section so much. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's capabilities astound Abida Parveen, she sees him in such wonder. It appears that she now knows whose disciple he is. Trained and molded under the incomparable Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali khan.

This is undisputedly one of coke studios best yet most underrated performances. The level of talent portrayed by Rahat and Abida is nearly impossible for most other singers to reach. First saw this when it only had about 30 million views so I'm glad to see that this masterpiece is finally getting the recognition it deserves!

My family moved from karachi in 1956 to delhi...my grandfather used to talk about his childhood in karachi.....whenever he tells his childhood stories....the more i m in love with karachi..🇮🇳🤝🇵🇰

Very soulful voice by Begum Abida Parveenji and Rahat Fatehali Ali Saab.

What a masterpiece they've made! Pleasant to the soul. Refreshing all the sorrows. Ufff. Abida Parveen Ji's start was amazing. I've Come here after almost 5 to 6 years. One more thing: whoever can, pls vote today. India needs your vote for the betterment of the country.

This comes from love, respect, humility..............and especial reverence to the sufi saints and their kalams. the singers you are talking about, first understand what they are singing..............whats the spirit, and when they deliver..............it becomes just other worldly.

I don't understand ourselves. we Pakistanis support Indians here and same response I'd from other side. we talk about respecting other's culture and specially religion. we promote peace. but suddenly after 10 15 minutes when we will be watching military comparison video of india and pakistan, we will be abusing each other. we should promote peace. our people are out of food and shelter. but we are buying weapons to destroy each other. we know that sooner or later we will suffer this curse. I support Indian as a pakistani. and I expect 90 to 95 percent Indians also want peace and prosperity. we have much more important things in our life to resolve. respect from pakistan. be happy and respect other religion.😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
