Trevor makes the best bowstrings. I use this video to set up nock points on my older strings, but whenever I need a new one, TTT are the best.

New to the sport, just bought a bow, and when I receive it, this is the video/nock I'll be tieing to adjust and shoot my first arrow. Very discriptive/clear video. Saved till the day my bow arrives...

Now I have tied my own nock set for a long time. Your way is actually simpler and I feel a better way. Glad to Find this old video. Now to get me some of the correct serving in case I need to tie some new ones. Probably at the time it will be time For you to make me some new strings. Maybe I’ll ask you to send along me enough serving for two nock sets. Maybe 4 if I have two strings.

I love this method. I shoot barebow and do some competing. I found this method has been the most flexible and durable! My last nockset lasted 11 months of shooting at least 5 days a week. It makes the arrow tuning process easier without stopping to replace no ks.

Brilliant, mate. I like the idea for the ability to customize colors. It's a beautiful use of items that one already has. It definitely is better than getting a nocking point that is fixed by crimping.

New to archery and wanted to tie on a nock instead of using the crimp on metal nocks. This was easy enough to do and has been months since I tied them and they are still perfect. Like to have the bright color choice as well. Thanks!

Thanks for this video. I dislike brass nock sets so I've used tie-on's for years now and always had a heck of a time with standard tie-on's when the paper tune showed needed adjustment. I had to cut them off, try to move a fraction and re-tie again. A real hassle. I used your method today on a new string I just twisted yesterday. It not only worked great but it's a lot more compact than some others I've tried in the past. I appreciate this demo...

Thanks for the video. I have been using brass nocks to find the sweet spot, then marking the string, removing the brass and installing tied nock sets with nail knots. They do not move at all. And there has been a few times where I've changed tiller or what not and had to go back and remove the nail knots (and even redo the center serving once). I was looking for a better solution, and I believe I just found it!

Today was tie-on nock set experimentation day. These are my recs/observations..John Dudley's over/under style was good for easy tie and locking in a D loop. Longbow Dan's, "double pass through" method was a close second...sensitive to tightness and adjustability ratio. TTT "modified blood knot"???, took the title! TTTKO...not much more difficult to tie, BUT dress and set is KING. I also thought the TTT method was the best compromise for tightness to string and ease of adjustability. Now back to you TTT...

Minor correction. The Dudley over/under knot ended up being able to twist up and down. Just took a good bit to break it free. I'm still going for the modified blood knot, based on the dress and set.

Could you do a video on how to serve a Flemish twist string? There’s lots of serving videos out there, but none of them really say this is where we’re starting and this is where we’re serving too, ect. Like hey this is the top loop and this is the side we’re starting on and working our way down ect or however the proper way is. It would be a great video like this one.

Do agree. But ultimately the best way to dial it is shooting it as a 30°+ angle. Which a hamskea gen2 axis level will get ta closer imo

So when I re-serve a string the only way the nock spins up the string like you’re talking about is… when the bows sitting like you have it and you start your serving at the bottom and flip the serving jig towards yourself right??? Just wondering. I’ve wasted so much thread serving different ways.

How about 5 turns then go back 3 and you are fine turning?

The overhand knot method is less adjustable. It doesn’t run in the track of the serving so micro adjustment is difficult.

Do you want to serve your string counter clockwise (left wound) if I you are a right hang shooter to keep that nock rotating tight? Where do you buy your serving material? What size should I search for again? Mine must be served the wrong way when I got it bc my brass nocks keep opening up my serving? Thanks in advance and thanks for the nice video

It needs to be served the direction of the string twist. Brass nocks are rough. If the serving is nylon it just needs upgraded to a better product. We use powergrip.

Will you do a video of how you serve a trad string??? Nobody ever says or really shows if they’re starting at the top and working their way down or starting at the bottom and working their way up ect.

Hi, You always want to run the serving in the direction of the string twist. If you serve it the opposite way the serving will cause influence on the nock

My friend, don’t quit your day job. There’s actually some good videos on You Tube about how to tie nock points and others. You definitely need to tune the Black Widow that you were shooting at the beginning of the video. I didn’t know they could be so loud. G

I'm using this method with BCY 3D serving on a center serving that's either .021" or .024". That should be enough difference, right? The reason I ask is that I've tied a pair of nocks twice now and each time they loosen up just enough that they move around in the space of 4-5 arrows. They're not coming untied, it seems like there's maybe just a little bit of stretch in the material. The center serving was done really well (Steve Baker) and isn't separating or visibly indented or anything like that, so I'm guessing I just didn't get it tight enough from the beginning. Does that sound about right?

BCY 3D is an end serving for endless loop strings and not appropriate for this task. Its also .016 diameter, not ideal. I suggest BCY powergrip or 62xs

Always burn tags from the top going down, not from underneath.

Wht is stuff called, to tie the knot?tq in advance

I’ve always addressed the string (3 under) so that the top of my tab butts up to the bottom of the tied nock. In this video it seemed like maybe you’re going right up under the nock. Which do you do and why?

Hey Ben, the closer you are to the nock the better for tiller, also this is the only legal way to do it form most traditional classes in competition archery. For hunting what you described would be fine except i can hook the string without looking where as you may need to verify tab position.

I tied some of these and they were fine, i could move them by twisting and it was great, but its been a week now and one of them seemed to tighten down drastically and was digging into my serving and i could no longer move it. What would cause that? Should i be tying them not as tight?

What make model serving are you using?, this wont work with nylon needs to be high quality like bcy powergrip.

Hey I was just referred to you from Archery Geek. I have a brand new 21" Hoyt Satori riser with 45Lb Trad Tech Black Maxx 2.0 limbs I have a 27" draw length. Can you make me up a couple of strings for it? I've not shot this bow at all as I just bought the riser and had the limbs for one of my 17" risers. I believe the brace on these satori's is supposed to be between 7.5 and 8.5" I don't do facebook and couldn't find a websight to order from so I thought I'd leave a comment here. Thanks!!

No, ideally your serving should be applied to the string in the reverse direction, but the tie nock goes on exact same.

What size is that string? .025?

Tim Broyer yes in that example it was. This method works as good maybe even better with .021. Below that i haven’t really tested.

hey man great video! do you think tying my nocks like this will stop my nose from getting wacked and bleeding on the brass nock? i know i have to correct my form too. it isnt all the time but when it happens i bleed like crazy. im thinking these will help alot with that!
