The chimes on the H4’s, 5’s & 6’s were so nice to listen to. The TR’s just aren’t the same when it comes to that.

I miss the H5’s they were the best, they had the best stopping sound and buzz when you notice it pulling up even the door chime is old too, another thing about the H5s are that they were designed the way it was supposed to be designed and it was designed the right way. 🙏🏻RIP H5: 1978-2013

h5's are my favourite ttc subway cars ive been on them for 11 years i miss them

I miss the old trains. They gave Toronto a bit of character.

Man do I miss the old Hawkers. It's so boring knowing you're going to get on a T1 or TR on their respective routes. I used to always hope that when I was waiting for the train it'd be an H5 or an H4 on the BD. Those days are gone :(

The H6’s also made a very similar buzz and so did the old CLRV and ALRV streetcars I remember when I was on either an H5 or an H6 or on a CLRV or ALRV streetcar and when I had my old Walkman with me and when I had the radio turned on on it that buzzing sound would get amplified into my headphones for some strange reason

@@TheBurlingtonTransitFan the ALRV’s did indeed make the buzz it was just quieter I remember being on the ALRV’s and hearing the buzz just like the H5’s and H6’s they both made the buzz but it was louder on the H5’s I remember the buzz on the CLRV’s was more similar to the buzz on the H5’s and the buzz on the ALRV’s was more like the buzz on the H6 trains the way I know the ALRV’s made the buzz because just like on the H5’s and H6’s and the CLRV’s when I had my old tape Walkman and I had it on radio I could hear the buzz amplified through my earphones

Willy 2nd Channel the hawker company went bankrupt and closed, so an h7 would be unlikely

Jasondelaca That's wrong. Hawker Siddeley was bought by UTDC ( Urban Transportation Development Corporation ) and they joined together to make the H6s and continue business. The reason why they shutdown was because of Bombardier when they bought UTDC/ Hawker Siddeley, and then they shutdown their company, and also took stuff from them. I still miss the H6s and the other H series trains.

SimTransit Here in England A Lot of our factories were shut Down and were taken over by bombardier. Why are bombardier shutting down all the factories?

The only time I got an H5 was in 2005, and 2012 when I visited Toronto. What i miss about them is the door chimes :(

Same! The engine and the door chime and the model, but ATLEAST we have a good subway and that is the TR

I remember watching this when I was a kid. I was wondering why you did not go in the train. Good times.

I have been on all when living in West end Toronto for 25 years and going downtown and most recent 2 months ago visiting Toronto now living in Vancouver BC because of the mild winters .. Toronto does have very good Subway service and Vancouver SkyTrain is getting better also ..going further distance

I miss the h series for their colorful floors and wood panels. Too bad the T1s and TRs are basically hospitals on wheels with bright lights and boring white and grey walls.

It’s interesting that in the video title it says 2011 but in the bottom right corner it says 2016 transport media

What's the difference between the h4 h5 and h6 subway trains? I've never rode on those trains I'm only familiar with the t1 and the Toronto Rocket trains.

h4 had no a/c but probably the most comfortable seats imaginable. The bench was just one big mono seat and was like a yellow orange color, the h5 and h6 were a bit more similar except the seating, the h5 had the second most comfortable seats and those seats were orange although some were changed to that red cloth that is still used today. I'm not sure why the red cloth is used, it always seems to keep dirt and dust and gum never comes out of those things but my guess is that the previous seats were easily punctured but man are those seats rock hard compared to those yellow and orange ones cushiony ones. There were also a lot of other technological differences with experimental technologies coming and going and changes for safety etc among all of the models.

Born on 2007, rode the H4, H5 and H6. H6 had nice orange doors and had a nice acceleration sound. H5 had yellow doors with nice sound. H4 was quiet and had comfortable seats. Well they were made out of leather.

@@utleychase7 Dirty slow constantly busy so many lines that go to the same place filthy trains and zero hospitality not to mention the fact 80 percent of the stations look identical aside from some being dirtier than others. Yup real world class subway you guys got.
