always so pleasing to watch your videos! how strongly would you recommend this over the TTArtisan 50mm F1.4 for replicating the "medium format look"? asking since this one will block 1/4 of the viewfinder vs very little blocking from the F1.4

I have this lens and I agree with your review. At f0.95 it is sharper than a few f1.4 lenses I have at similar focal length. I use it mainly on my Fuji GFX50R. Its hard to nail focus when wide open without using magnification, but even when you don't get the image 100% sharp the whole ambience of the photo with its amazing bokeh means the image can still be acceptable. A highly recommended lens for people looking for an ambience in their images, over precision.

@@jedunboxing4127 I haven’t read or watched other vloggers. One thing to know with this lens and the cheaper Chinese lenses in general, is that there is significant model variation. Don’t expect a Leica or Zeiss lens for a TT Artisan price. This lens shot wide open evokes an atmosphere because of its rendering. It does that job very well and that is what such lenses are designed for. For the price it is a good lens if it’s used as intended. If you are curious about the lens, try to find one second hand so that you don’t lose too much money if it doesn’t work out for you. I recently acquired a Mitakon 65mm f1.4 lens designed for GFX system. If you have a GFX camera, this is a superb lens to create ambience/atmosphere.

If there was one underrated channel, that would be yours. You should have a trillion followers. The vibe, the craft, the art put into your videos are so good that you can only hope that each of them would last 2 hours per piece. Hats off, Sir.

@@GxAce Would it be kinda pointless to use this lens on a Fuji APS-C? Like does it lose the medium-format-ish depth-of-field and end up looking sorta like the Fuji 56mm F1.2? Because this lens seems like a *banger* and I've been meaning to get an X-Pro! (currently got an X100F)

Yup I totally agree you for the money this lens is so worth it. I am currently living in Bulgaria and just started using the lens to capture some portraits work. I am thinking of doing a project with this lens. So far so good I am glad I have the lens. Great review.

Dear hello, I love your reviews!!!!! may I ask you an advise? I recently bought a Fuji X-H1 and I am behind two lenses, but I have doubts to choose between these four: the 35mm f/1.2, the 50mm f/0.95 (both from TTArtisans), the 75mm f/1.2 and the 85mm f/1.8 (both from Viltrox). I'll use them basicly for modeling and rarely street photography (beach photography, well said), but I want to choose two that don't repeat features. Please I hope you can help me with an advise!!! Thx

Another great video! Would this lens work equally well and not lose its characteristics when adapted to APS-C sensor camera like one of the Fuji's? I believe there is M-to-XF adapter so seems like a good option. Would love to hear your thoughts/experience if it is something you can test. :)

I’d like a comparison with the new ZY Optics Speedmaster f/0.95, I’m choosing between that and this lens.

wait, is it the same lens as the one for Fuji X mount?

I wanted to see how many 50mm 35mm 85mm superfast lenses are there (f0.75-f1.2). I saw the Russian Zenit Zenitar 50mm f0.95 sony e mount review and wanted to see a comparison between this and that lens. or perhaps a lens roundup if there are more such super fast lenses.

I just got the mitakon. Can tell you it certainly , as you'll get from just comparing reviews, got nothing on the Samyang 85 1.2. Got that one. It's pretty sharp across the frame without glow or much CA at 1.2. The mitakon is sharp enough in the center with bad edges and a purple glow all across

how does this compare to the f1.2 ttartisan 50mm?
