TTA Podcast 279: God Awful Movies

SUPPORT OUR SPONSOR: www.casper.com/sethandrews
Eli Bosnick, Heath Enwright, and Noah Lugeons are hosts of a podcast called "God Awful Movies," which skewers the hideously bad (and unintentionally funny) religious films produced by God's public relations department here on earth.
Seth Andrews joins the GAM team to examine - and skewer - three specific religious movies:
1) A Matter of Faith
2) If Footmen Tire You, What Will Horses Do?
3) International Guerrillas

I've met Eli, nice guy. I laughed so hard at: "Then it's infinity"

"Rapture fetish" is a good term to describe some of the Christian movies.

I imagine Nicolas Cage looks over these scripts and thinks, "Wow, this sounds good. I should be in this."

I'd love them to discuss the "Jesus camp" documentary if they haven't already.

Oh man! There is so much I want to say right now about this episode!!! I can't believe that others were traumatized by "Thief in the Night" too! My mom joined a Christian cult, and every year they would play this for all the kids (they owned the school we went to as well). It absolutely terrified me!!! I'm only 32 minutes into this podcast, but holy shit! I'm so glad that someone else out there knows what that was like. And the twist to all this is that we're Jewish - It's a long and very bizarre story, a very strange and bizarre story. Thanks for this one Seth, it's fantastic so far.

I watch all sort of videos while working and the line "I'll be the guy who bit ray comfort" is the only time I've ever actually laughed out loud.

This was epic, guys! Eli's exuberant descriptions were easily on par with a Patton Oswalt stand up special. My must-watch list has now been massively expanded. Today is indeed a good day, with no fatalities by car necessary. Keep up the excellent work!

Love these light-hearted episodes. Maybe it's cause once you hear all the arguments you just want to move on to something fun.

Since stumbling onto their "Scathing Atheist" podcast last year, Eli's now a regular there, too -- and his contributions are hilarious. TTA, GAM and SA are my regular fare each week. Having my favorite podcasters on a single show was an unexpected "dream team" moment. Thanks for having them on, Seth.
