Thanks for putting a fun program for the community, its really great for comradery
Hi Rex, glad you entered and gave us some great entertainment along the way! Yes Sir, finding a decent road for the speed run is key to this when you get above 30mph, it's as important as the car mods! You did great as soon as you found the smoother asphalt. Note to self - turn on camera - check! Turn on speed meter - check! 🤣🤣👍👍

Careful…. Speed is still just as addictive as before… lol…. Thanks for the sub brother! Subbed you back! Good luck can’t wait to see what speeds you get!
Finally! The Rocks! Have come back! To Ontarrrrrio!
"That's turning left a lot" congrats, you built yourself a NASCAR 😂😂😂
Great run Rex, good to see you joining in the mayhem!! You got 5mph more than we did on our first attempt running on very similar power sources.... that bigger pinion and smaller spur certainly made a difference! The old 'hunt the dog bone game'...... yep, well familiar with that one! 🤣 👍 👍 👍
Cool bodyshell! I have that one as a plastic Tamiya kit :D LOL, i was surprised you found the dogbone! I had a buggy once that threw out dog bones so i painted them bright orange and that helped a lot! The air pressure under the bodyshell might make the car unstable? The 72 km/h is impressive! Great stuff! Keep it up and have a great weekend my friend!
Hi Rex, a great start and entry onto the leaderboard. It’s going to be so important to get the right piece of tarmac for the speed run, oh remember, make sure the head cam is recording, just a reminder for when you go back to the future. 😂😂Best wishes 😊😊
Good runs Rex.
How awesome is this I Finally get to compete and have fun with you from a distance 🤣 good to have u on board 😊 👍 just modified the euro truck I was at 70 with 5.5t on 3s with 25/55 gears ⚙️ just installed a 3.5 reedy sonic with custom gears ⚙️ going for 💯 with a tt01 euro truck 🤣👍 good luck brother and have fun 👍 p.s. stay safe 🙏
That was a hard place to run, I used a good car park this morning but it was a 2 mile walk each way. But with brushed not hitting much speed.
Nice one dude! Hat in the ring, horse in the race or how ever that goes. Get in!

It must be horse on a hat! Or is it hat on a horse? 🧐
Its like ice skating out there! Great runs though btw!

It spent more time getting lifted by rocks than being in the ground!
Amazing first run. 45mph as a baseline,that's awesome 👍

If we upped it to 3s im sure it would get quicker, or a hotter motor… however Id have to change the body or add vertical fins and raise the chassis
Nice run Rex! These cars are great fun but were not geared to go fast at all!! You really got to cram the gearing into the to get them going. That was pretty good for a first go at it, 45 aint bad at all for these cars! I don't think that little bit of slope there gave you any advantage at all! You'd have to be driving down the side of a mountain to get any noticeable difference!

Thanks Addam, yeah the final drive ratio you can achieve is just not there without custom work, Im happy with the 2s 8.5 turn run. Uncontrollable any faster unless i take it serious and change the body and a few other factors… im having fun watching the current battles throughout the field, my speed is low on the boards but im proud of the plastic fantastic doing 45 on 2s
Welcome to the madness Rex. 45 is a great result for the brushed section. Not sure if you plan to do more on your car. But best wishes for you next runs.

Its good for brushed but im running brushless! Hahaha im quite slow on the brushless list, however I am running only 2s and 8.5turn. No more runs for me Ive already converted the R into a tarmac rally car 😆. Thanks for stoping in always!
heck yeah, i love your channel.. i will be watching.. i missed out on rc growing up and i just got into it about a year ago.. im a tamiya nut one day i will own them all LOL.. im all about speed runs but im learning that isnt all that great once you get over 45 mph

I meant castle and dynamite as a regular combo for the masses. Novak was not for the masses with their prices, i ran them in touring car racing

@@rexrcs I remember both Castle & Dynamite, Sorry, it was DuraTrax, not Dynamite. DuraTrax had the Element combo (re-branded Castle stuff). I'm not sure when Dynamite came on the brushless wagon.

@@rexrcs I remember Neu, barely, LOL. Castle in the early years use Neu motors, right? Neu/Castle I think they were called.

@@rexrcs yes it's so fun, I needed to get out of the house more so I got a surron, I really like the video you did when you were on your pev and running your RC car too
Enjoyed watching your run. I thought about trying myself. What about a 3S run?
@rexrcs

Thank you! Appreciate that. I suggest anybody to try, its fun. 3s would absolutely take it to the next level, however I dont really have a spot smooth and big enough for 3s speeds. If I were to continue trying I would go 3s, stiffen suspension and raise it, add weight to the center of the car, change the body or modify it, that could possibly be my next steps
Grimlock! You can build the R with the rally higher ride height configuration can't you?
