Tsitsikamma Hiking Trail | Garden Route
The beautiful, 6-day Tsitsikamma Hiking Trail starts at Nature's Valley and ends at Storm's River. It covers 60km of scenic indigenous mountain forest, fynbos and numerous river gorge's.
This trail was South Africa's first officially accredited hiking trail and has recently been allocated the Green Flag Certificate for a trail under excellent management.
We hiked this trail 28 April - 03 May 2018 quite comfortably using our 35L backpacks. I highly recommend!

Brilliant - the whole trail was full of visual delights and challenges. You got a bit sucked of energy but you cracked on amid some pretty cool shelters to. Gotta say cracking tunes. All the best. Mark

Hey Brad, that looks so amazing! I am going to hike there over Easter, after watching your video I'm really looking forward to it!;) I am still looking out for some ideas for supper, what did you cook on your hike?
Anyone thinking of visiting this place?I wonder if there are any restrictions now these times of covid19, I am planning to go to South Africa in March and just hike around Tsitsikamma, it looks nice
Hi Butter Fliegr, glad to hear you going to be doing this hike, you’ll really enjoy it! Each day of this hike gets better and better! We wanted to pack light so the meals that worked well for us were the Knorr Ready-to-cook pasta meals like these: www.knorrwhatsfordinner.co.za/products/knorr-alfredo-pasta-and-sauce/ We also found that tortillas filled with tuna (the sachets, not the tins) was convenient during the day as they pack well and stay fresh. I would consider taking some fresh meat and vegetables with you for the first night and look to either braai/bbq/poitjie at the hut. All the best and enjoy the hike!

Thanks Emmanuel. No, we actually carried all our gear ourselves for this trip. We just packed very light!
