TS2019 Rail Disasters - More Runaways along Cajon (1994 & 1996 Cajon Pass runaways)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Rail Disasters is a Train Simulator series simulating and recreating the events of real world train accidents.
Episode 19: More Runaways along Cajon
Part 1: 1994
On December 14, 1994, a Santa Fe intermodal train en route to Los Angeles loses it brakes along the summit grade becoming a runaway and colliding up a Union Pacific coal train just at the bottom. Though no one was killed, investigators found that the cause was kinks in the air hoses that triggers the brakes.
Part 2: 1996
On February 1, 1996, a Santa Fe manifest train from Barstow, CA to Los Angeles loses its brakes along the same summit and becomes a runaway. The conductor and brakeman are killed while fleeing with the engineer staying in the cab. The train ends up derailing at a curve at high speed. Investigators find that the cause was just similar to what happened more than a year before.
NOTE:
The consist are not fully accurate and I needed the BN in the 1994 for power & the Santa Fe GP9's since I had no GP50's in Santa Fe livery. So please don't complain

When signal turn green, a freight gets under way. At 4:10 a.m. in the middle of the 🌙, 4 locomotives and 45 cars derailed and explored into a fireball. 2 Santa Fe crewmembers were killed and the Engineer was involving injured the crash. Santa Fe GP50 3853 and GP60 4031 met their faith under the scrapper's toruch. GP60M 157 and GP60B 342 survived the wreck, repair, repainted and return to service hauling the freight and still operates today in the BNSF Colors.

On December 14th, 1994, Union Pacific Coal Train has just came down the Cajon Pass and stop at milepost 61.55 on Cajon Subdivision waiting at the signal for another train clear the line. The Coal Train had 3 engines on headend with C41-8w 9450 leading and 2 helpers in the back were SD40-2s 3341 and 3354. Behind UP Coal Train was Santa Fe Doublestack Train which had B40-8w 576 in the lead, FP45 96, F45 5976 and GP60M 144 with the load of Doublestack Container Cars. As a Union Pacific Coal Train waits at the Signal to proceed, the crew hears something on the radio that makes a cold blood run.
