I was expecting the seller to say that's good, but I guess to a Skyrim fan that's bad. Not being able to join every faction in a single run is also good imo, makes the world feel real, why would two opposing factions let you join

@@Kipah you look and you look and you can't find it. You open the quest again "fish shaped rock". You aren't sure if the game is so old and you can't tell if this rock is supposed to be the one. This is the biggest immersion killer for me in Skyrim. It makes no sense that the leader of the College of Winterhold can also be the leader of the Companions and also the Dark Brotherhood and also the Thieves Guild... like c'mon, some of those factions are practically polar opposites and should hate each other. The fix for this, IMO, should as follows: You can JOIN every faction in the game, provided you have minimum points in the attributes and skills that the faction values (a barbarian with 0 magical skills SHOULD NOT be able to join the College of Winterhold, for example). Eventually however, a quest in the faction questline will put you at odds with some other faction, like the companions defending a mark of the Dark Brotherhood, or something like that, which would mean that you can't just join and advance in every faction in one playthrough

@@AlbinoTuxedo And they did that in Morrowind too!! From what I remember at a certain point you'd either have to choose between the thieves guild or the fighters guild. Even more fucked up that's not an option in Skyrim when the companions are the complete antithesis to the thieves guild. A crazy idea is allowing a barbarian to complete an alternate mage guild questline as a brute who they send in when they need muscle, maybe they reward you with services and magical weapons.

I've also never had trouble hitting them, which a lot of people also complain about for some reason? Most of the time I didn't range them either, they're extremely easy to manipulate down to your level and wack to death. Idk, I think everyone WAY overreacts when it comes to cliff racers. Yeah it's the same with fast travel. In theory they say "just don't use it", but since every single questline is designed around the assumption that players will fast travel everywhere, you'd have to constantly be walking across the entire map. Actually, in my very first attempt, I quit somewhere outside of Seyda Neen because I just had no idea where to go to. I was 11 back then, I was just overwhelmed with the "So here you are, now go to Balmora, it's somewhere in this direction, good luck!"-attitude. Talked to a friend sometime after that. big fan of the game, who explained some basics to me, so I tried again and was hooked. Good times.

It's a great idea and I would wish more games would adopt it. But the problem is, you have to create directions clear enough for the player to not get confused, (which can be hard especially with games that have a lot of quests) and have good enough game design to effectively lead the player in a certain direction, which many companies these days are not willing to do. Thus we have bland pointers telling us where to go.

Can I just say this is one of the funniest, most pleasant "introducing Morrowind to Skyrim players" pieces of content I have ever seen. It really seems that the person who made it loves Morrowind while being cognizant that it has flaws. It also helps that it hasn't fallen into the tired circle of hell that is Morrowind fans acting like elitist, gatekeepers who are doing those Skyrim troglodytes the greatest favor in human history by trying to convince them that they have shitty taste. As someone who joined the series at Oblivion then quickly tossed it aside for Morrowind and Daggerfall (At least partially because I couldn't always afford to have a computer that could play Oblivion) and also enjoys Skyrim, it really hurts seeing many potential new Morrowind fans turned off of the game because a subset of the older fandom for the game mocks them in order to keep the world's most pathetic circle-jerk going. Honestly, what I probably need to do is just unsubscribe from the Morrowind subreddit, cause seriously, 9 out of every ten notifications I get from there on my phone is just assholes lashing out at people because they like Skyrim. Anyway, once again, hilarious video, and thank you for not being a jerk about liking Morrowind.

@@darosilvertail7957 I assume by small missions you mean the minor quests that are grouped under "miscellaneous" I just checked and (at least in the original version) those quests are all marked on the map as well as on your compass and I doubt they changed that for anniversary edition. you have to make sure that the "miscellaneous" group is selected (just like how you select major quests like the main story, the dawnguard questline, etc.) as well as the minor quest you want to see the marker for. if the "miscellaneous" group isn't selected then none of the minor quests will be marked also some quests are intended to not have markers because it's either something generic like "collect 10 bear pelts" which you can get pretty much anywhere or bethesda specifically wants you to search for the stuff (for example with the unusual gems or the crimson nirnroot)

Honestly i hope they remaster the old games, and for morrowind have a setting for original morrowind rules, but also have an updated setting that adds common sense things, like fast travel, essential npcs, autosaving, a stamina system that isnt entirely bullshit, yknow, basic things that make the game actually good. Seriously tho, forcing you to use stamina just to move at all, but also if youre low on stamina you can almost never land an attack, seriously the single dumbest mechanic in any game ever.
