I am so glad you read the seven year slip ! I already told you on instagram but I cried SO much at 3 am reading it and like you I was expected to like it but it was actually my second favorite book of 2023 and it was the last book I read this past year and it just hits so HARD

gurl I feel you about the moodreader problems. I made a similar tbr thing for February for reading nothing but books I own by Black authors and I've been doing well so far, 2/17 done with one more almost compled and 2 others in proess. However, all Ive been in the mood to read the last week or so is Kingdom of Flesh and Fire which obviously goes against the tbr bit. Though today I've decided that I should just give in and read what I want to read at the time as it does a disservice to the book and author if I'm too busy being preoccupied by other books while trying to read it. If that makes any sense. It is also why I just don't really do planned TBRs anymore. They feel too much like assigned reading.

I liked it!! It’s not my most favorite fantasy I’ve read so far but it was definitely interesting and cute! Ti me it got a lot better towards the end so I think I will like the second and third books more!!

Because you liked The Seven Year Slip so much, you should read The Dead Romantics by the same author. It’s even better!
