It would be probably more correct to compare the same types of banh mi, i.e. bbq w bbq, mixed w mixed. Originally vietnamese banh mi are mostly only mixed, pate or sausage versions. All the other ones are made to fit the tourist demands. So the best sandwich to pick from these shops is the mixed one ( thập cẩm). And then it is up to personal taste. I had been to Hoi An and these shops multiple times, in my case banh mi Phuong suited my taste buds much more than madame Khanh

I agree, order the same and rate apples with apples.

The 2nd place Banh Mi looks so depress inside.

It was an unfair comparison as you guys got loaded ones at the first place where there was all kinds of meat and stuff going on then got a very bland vegetarian option at the 2nd place. You'd have to order similar banh mi or order the one that Anthony Bourdain ate and then compare.

You two are idts! You can't compare apples & oranges! Beef & Pork! Beef is the the specialty of Phuong!🤬

Vietnam and Banh Mi would be more enjoyable if the people stopped throwing garbage everywhere and showed more food safety and sanitary.

@@NicolasD414 Ignore him. He's been going from one Vietnamese video to another for 1 1/2+ years making the same comments or similar negative comments on Vietnam. All these southern overseas Viets love pointing out the negative stuff there, but also aren't willing to do anything to make it better, just bitch and whine. Yet they're all dying to go back. And he wants everything there to have high standards like in Japan but isn't willing to pay for it.
