I've lived in Michigan my whole life and this doesn't do it justice lol. Michigan foods would be Faygo pop, Better Made chips, Kellogg's brand cereals, Vlasic pickles, and some Mackinac Island fudge. Gerber baby food is even made here!

And Koegel’s hot dogs! I don’t even waste my money on ANY other brand at the supermarket as they are all garbage compared to those. Sadly, you pretty much have to order online if you live outside MI, which doesn’t make it very convenient. Their hot dogs use natural casing, so when they are cooked or grilled, the skin has that wonderful “snap” and the meat has such a good flavor! Mmmm😋

Ayeeee. Repping the mitten state! Lol Alex mentioned Lake Michigan, Michigan is known as “The Great Lakes State”. We are 2 peninsulas surrounded by the largest body of fresh water on Earth, the Great Lakes. There are 5 of them; Michigan, Superior, Huron, Erie, and Ontario. Come visit the Great Lakes state! ✋🏼 (I sound like a #puremichigan commercial) But come in the summer, it’s about -20°F right now. 🥶

Hey, Kate and Alex, here's a little geographical info about Lake Michigan: Lake Michigan is one of the five Great Lakes, which also include Lake Superior, Lake Erie, Lake Huron, and Lake Ontario. They're in the northern part of the contiguous 48 states, near Canada (actually, four of the five lakes have shores in Canada). Lake Michigan is the fifth largest lake in the world by area (Superior is second-largest, with the Caspian Sea being the largest). The cities of Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin have shores on Lake Michigan. Detroit, the biggest city in the state of Michigan, is on the opposite side of the state from Lake Michigan, and is closer to Lake Erie. The state of Michigan is divided in two by Lake Michigan-the part that's northwest of the lake is called the Upper Peninsula.

Oooh third Michigander! Michigan has great products (some great suggestions in the other comments here) and Alex would be in Heaven because we are well known for our breweries (Especially in Grand Rapids!) He was cracking me up, the name of that beer is Two HEARTED ❤️❤️ - I don’t prefer IPAs but Bell’s Brewery that makes Two Hearted is great. Also, The Great Lakes are the giant lakes that surround the state of MI (as seen on the bottom of the chip bag) Lake MI is the lake on the left side of the mitten. The Great Lakes are breathtaking, definitely worth visiting if you have the chance! Continued love from the Mitten State! ✋🏼

Kate I LOVED the face you made with the beer.. I too dislike beer, never have. I don't drink alcohol of any kind. That Cherry Jam looked good. Also on the Great Lakes Chips bag it showed a picture of all 5 of the lakes. The way to remember them is to spell HOMES -- Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior

I live in Windsor, Ontario Canada which is minutes south from Detroit, Michigan across the river. I love anything from Sanders and recently bought a big bag of the chocolate gummy bears - so good. Good box. Love Michigan cherries especially jams made with tart cherries.

My friends in Michigan say due to cold/snow Michigan is closed. LOL. I live in Florida, we are NEVER closed hahaha 😝

Yes, if you ever have the chance, the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes are the eighth wonder of the world, in my opinion ☺️ People actually climb up and back down each year. Takes a few hours going up, then a few hours back down-if you’re agile. Not for the faint of heart, but INSANELY beautiful to experience at least once in your lifetime!!!

Grand Rapids is the beer city. You’d love it here. Two hearted is a lot of people’s go to drink.

Don't despair, Kate! Along with the explosion of craft beer in the states, there is also one where small distilleries make high-quality small batch premium gins! I would have used the Cherry Jam to make a peanut butter sandwich myself.

Bell's also makes a version of their Two Hearted Ale called Double Two Hearted Ale. And Arbor Brewing in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area occasionally makes a stout that uses Mackinac Island fudge as one of the ingredients.

Glad to see some Michigan (and particularly Detroit) rep! Kind of wish I'd been able to send one first though lol I feel like the big MI thing that you guys should try is some of the Mackinac Island fudge, shame I don't live anywhere near there though :( hopefully someone can hook you guys up sometime

Oh my gosh! You guys finally got to try my favorite candy of all time! Those sour cherry patches are so good! I grew up in Michigan and I love Cherry Republic. I don't know if the letter in the box explained this, but cherries are the state fruit in Michigan and Cherry Republic is a store there that sells nothing but cherry items. It's heaven. Glad to see you guys liked all the Michigan sweets :)

i am born and raised in California and never had Combos until I watched your videos. I tried two flavors of Combos lately and they are SO effing good!!! Can't believe I have been Combos-less all these years. The Jalapeno Cheddar Combos are unbelievably yummy. PS - I love beer!!

I'm not a beer person but Bell's is realllllllly good. I live in the southern western part of Michigan right on the border to Indiana. Great Lakes Potato chips are very yummy. They have such a great crunch and very well seasoned. Combos are a go to for my husband. He takes them to work to snack on frequently. Nature Valley has a huge range of products here in the states. I usually only eat one or two biscuits of that! I've never had sander's candy but have always wanted to try it! Cherry Republic makes amazing products! I love this selection for you. I think some staples that are missing are Faygo and Vernors. Maybe I will make a box soon and send it on over...once this polar vortex is over and we are heated back up!

I know this video is quite old, but I'm from northern michigan and I loved this! 2 things! The first is that michigan has a TON of great breweries. Most of the beers on taps are some sort michigan made one. Like, if there are 10 beers on tap, 8 are michigans. And most of the time they are really good. The second thing, Traverse city. Traverse city is famous (around here) for its cherry festival. They have huge cherry farms, and there are even ice creams in stores that are "Traverse city cherry" specifically, and they are really good as well.

InTheKitchenWithKate I haven’t ever had a taste for beer. I used to be able to have alcohol but because I have food allergies that have gotten worse, I’ve started getting reactions to alcohol so I don’t drink! But did you know Coors and Samuel Adams beer is actually made in Ohio?

Blech i hate beer actually i hate most alcohol it has a nasty flavor and after taste plus no matter how well made or pricey i can smell and taste the fermentation even in mixed drinks or cocktails i can even smell and taste it when used in cooking or baking and cant eat whatever it is 😣😝😖

You should try chocolate covered Tabasco jelly beans from Jelly Belly. I went to their factory in Northern Cali, as far as I know-that's the only place you can purchase them. :-( Sweet and spice...yum I'm with you Kate-I'm not a beer drinker, could never get into the taste.

Rofl.. I HATE beer so much!! 💩👎 I would use it to know when I had had enough to drink when out with my friends... When I could take a sip of their beer and NOT make the face Kate made, I knew I was at my limit! But I have never liked drinks that had hard liquor in them either. Plus, I always got WAY more perks being the D.D. (designated driver) 👍😀

I used to be like you about beer Kate... then I met a brewer, I now work in a brewery and tap room and do enjoy beer! I’d love to send Alex some of our beers to try but we aren’t that exciting as we are only based in South London 😋

Every time a trying video comes out I get so excited!! And now I’m doing my research cause I think it’s time I send a box:):):)🇨🇦

You and Alex always get me laughing, the face you made after tasting the beer is the face I make for everything I don't like. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to trying new foods, like you I take the smallest bite possible, lol. This was another fantastic box from America, my list keeps getting bigger of all the wonderful treats I need to try. Thanks so much for putting a smile on my face. I grew up in Bay City, MI. But my family has 2 properties in northern Michigan. one. in Mio Michigan which is near Traverse city, and the other is in Vanderbilt, which is closer to Petoski Michigan. The one near traverse city is close to Torch Lake, which is a go to place for water sports. But the 5 largest lakes around Michigan's borders are: 1.Lake Michigan 2.Lake Huron 3.Lake Ontario 4.Lake Superior and 5.Lake Erie. I now live in Ohio which also borders Michigan to the South and also borders Lake Erie. just a few facts you might like to know. hope I didn't bore you. I have lived in 13 different states and 2 different countries now, I love traveling. Do you travel much? and Alex, I like some beers but my all time favorite is Landshark beer.

I love the way you say "blewburee" 😂 sounds way more sophisticated than how we say bloo barry lol

Seven layer dip combos are my fav! The jalapeno cheddar are awesome as well!

You should do a video where you try the American snacks and then the UK version of them and see if there’s a difference!

I love the great lake crisps I go there every 2 months

The surface area of Lake Michigan is about 1/5 the size of the entire UK. It is 58,000+ square kilometers and one of the 5 Great Lakes in the US. You actually have a little map of the Great Lakes on the crisp packs. Lake Michigan is the one on the left , bottom that I’d longer north to south than any of the other ones.
