I'm actually shocked some of these items are "hated"! That's why you can't really trust reviews - everyone is so different!

I will say, I've seen others do these polls and get similar results and I think a lot of it is... these products are popular so more people have tried them thus it's going to have more negative opinions versus something really bad that no one bothered to try Whether it be makeup or celebrities, the more popular you are the more strong opinions people have about you bad or good so while I think most of these products are good because they are popular for a reason, the ones it didn't work for will be more vocal simply because it's popular

Reviews now are usually done by promotions if you notice 9/10 they say the product they are reviewing were gifted or part of a promotion where they received it free in exchange for an “honest” review.👀

Thank you for addressing the people that the Rare Beauty undereye brightener is NOT a concealer! I like it, and love the consistency, and it blends well over concealer. The reviews drive me insane because most of them are complaining about the coverage of this non-concealer.😂

L'oreal Infallable Fresh Wear is one of my favorite foundations so I was shocked to see that people don't like it. I have extremely oily skin but the foundation lasts really well throughout the day, even when I don't powder certain problematic areas. My only complaint is that the shades run really yellow/orange outside of 2 shades. It's not a problem for me but I can imagine it being a problem for many others.

I think you love it because you are very oily. Even my combo skin it looked very dry on me. I much prefer the glow foundation.

This was a great content idea! Please make this a series. Remember the Becca Aqua Powder and the Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter- how confused people were by what it was and how to properly use it? There are always products that consumers don’t know how they are technically meant to be worn and seeing you show the uses and application methods is really helpful!

I love this video concept! Talking about products people already own and didn’t like and give ideas on how to fix them and therefore making some maybe give the product another chance before throwing it away and wasting product and money. Great idea! Keep it going!

I LOOVE the infallible freshwear! I have to do major skin prep bc I’m dry but when it needs to last, this stuff doesn’t budge.

This!!! People usually hate a product when they either don't know how to use it properly, or they don't prep the skin properly.

I have dry skin and I absolutely love that foundation. On my skin it definitely looks better and better the longer I have it on

I LOVE the danessa myricks chrome flakes. I showed them to the nail techs at cosmo school today and they were OBSESSED. I know they're marketed as makeup but they work perfectly on nails and hair also. They are my absolute favorite makeup product to ever exist; however, I totally understand having difficulty using them

I love them as well! I love to use them for an extra "pop" for an inner corner highlight. I was really surprised to see that people didn't like these.

I used to use l’oréal infallible when i was in musicals. it was full coverage but looked like skin. it lasted super long during rehearsals and performances, didn’t come off when i sweat. didn’t catch in my dry patches or look oily. that stuff is really good.

Who doesn’t like the L’Oréal Infallible foundation? That’s nuts to me. So many actual MUAs recommend it as a great affordable foundation. I personally love it for when I want longwear and full coverage. So weird!

I love most L’Oréal foundations but this one just didn’t work on my dry mature skin, made it more textured.😢

As I’ve gotten more experienced with beauty products, skincare, etc a lot of problems are from user error…lol.

The Loreal foundation was my go-to for a long time when I was a waitress. Also you said it, it is matte and most people I saw having issues with it were those with dry skin. Also it is foundation that needs to "warm up" if you will. Like you noticed it looks better the longer it's on. Like it's mixing with your skin's oils and the warmth of your person so it melts in and just looks better. Only reason I stopped using it was because my forever mature skin was getting more mature now in my late 30s and foundation was an area I decided I could splurge on and now use the Dior Matte foundation as it works best with my forehead wrinkles and texture

The Milk highlight stick in the shade Lit was literally the product that got me into cream highlights. It’s so beautiful, definitely one of my favorite products just in general

I LOVE the Rare Beauty under eye brightener is one of my favorite products. It makes my under eyes glow and look so much healthier. I use it instead of concealer because every concealer creases on me and never completely covers my dark under eyes anyways.

I'm in my foundation/concealer free era and I think I need that Rare Beauty brightener!

Robert, you did an amazing look with Blend Bunny's Sugar & Grunge Palette so I copied it for New Year's - and got so many compliments! It was my first attempt with patting down pigment instead of blending eyeshadow and while it wasn't anywhere near perfect, I was so proud. Thank you for teaching this old dog new tricks :)

I work in cosmetics. The product that I absolutely hate, but everyone seems to love, is Tarte Shape Concealer. I can’t put my finger on why. Part of it is definitely the shade range, but also the texture of it. I’ve done probably hundreds of shade matches for people and it looks fine. There are just way better ones out there.

The flakes are gorgeous -I’d probably put a bit of glitter glue on because no matter what, glitter gets everywhere when I use it

Love to Robert for helping us matte warriors beautifully merge onto the freeway of glow that James took us to. Welsh twinning = winning.

If I were to try the DM flakies I would absolutely use Nyx glitter primer with it. It does wonders for all my lid shades in various formulas. 💜🖤💜🖤

It’s been awhile since I’ve tried the freshwear foundation but it was originally advertised as a medium cover with a fresh or natural finish. Not full coverage and matte. Seems like they remarketed it to claim what it actually does now. That was my issue. It’s a good foundation especially if you have oily skin 😢but since I have combination/dry skin I wanted something that wouldn’t make me look drier.

It's interesting what you mentioned about drugstores selling good foundations. I told a friend that I got my full-cover foundation from Walmart, and she was shocked. However, it has been the best one I tried so far. Maybe there are better ones, but if I'm looking for a cheap and good option I would go for that one.

My go to foundation and powder was Cover Girl in a dark blue oval shaped package and tube powder from them was in a lighter blue oval shaped package and I got compliments on it almost daily. I'm retired/disabled now so I only wear makeup occasionally or I'd still wear it.

I love that L’Oréal foundation, but the smell is a bit too strong for me. I still wear it, and every time I’m applying it I think “oh right, THIS is why I rarely reach for this…”

my problem with the milk sticks is that now that we have so many other options for cream/liquid bronzers/blushes/highlighters, even tho theyre good, they kinda fall short, especially now that they changed the sizes to what was previously a mini (bc of inflation) i miss how some time ago there was so many interesting colors with these huge sticks that u could use everyday and still lasted for MONTHS

I love the Rare Beauty Under Eye Brightner, but I use it a bit differently. I am 57 years old with dry skin, and I can use the lightest shade on ”no makeup days”, but I also have the shade medium and I use that one as a primer and colour correcter under my consealer. I would have loved if it had a bit more of an apricot shade, then it would be better as a colour corrector, but it is good enough for a work day, and it prevents my consealer from creasing. 😊

I have some shadows like the Danessa Myricks one and I haven’t used them bc I wasn’t quite sure what to do, so thank you for the tutorial on that 😊 your eye look is just stunning! You have mad makeup skills! I haven’t tried that particular foundation but I will probably steer clear of it bc I have dry skin. I try to keep it moisturized and well hydrated but I just don’t get along with certain foundations. I’m not crazy about the eye gels either, but I think I was trying to put them on incorrectly. I find that some gel products like those make your eyelids look like cracked leather 🤨 I like the L’Oréal infalliable foundation. It’s a little too full-coverage for me on a daily basis, but it looks nice. I love the blush you picked -it goes well with the eye look.

I adore the milk contour stick in toasted. It’s so rare to find a contour shade that works for my light olive complexion

The L'Oréal Infallible liquid foundation is my absolute favourite that never lets me down, so i can't even fathom how anyone could dislike it 😂 It really puts into perspective that you can never know how a product will peform before you've tried it yourself and that everyone's skin is different.

I do like the Danessa Myricks chroma flakes but they aren't the easiest product to work with. I've used the dry flakes with a mixing medium and I've used the Glisten chrome flakes and I feel like they dry down and stay better. The actual flakes in the Danessa ones are amazing I just feel like she needs to adjust the gel slightly to make them work better

Engagement comment for the algorithm, but I also have some products I can’t imagine working for many people n I would find so entertaining and also helpful to see you try and give feedback on. The 1. Crème Match Made luminous liquid foundation. 2. Revolution Conceal and Hydrate foundation 3. Cover FX natural finish foundation (that’s not natural at all, but very drying) 4. Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear foundation 5. Revolution Conceal and Fix Mattifying Primer 6. Flower Miracle Matte loose Finishing Powder (it is hands down the worst powder I have ever bought and I lean very oily in my T zone- not to be confused with the miracle satin loose powder.)
